  • Check My Tutorial on a Snapback to Strapback SEWN VERSION

Thumbs up so people can see

  • I can't rock snapbacks cuz I'm a size 8 in fitted caps...so snaps fit me hella tight and look kinda funny.

But I'll think about doing this...

  • @JZ360MV

dude i feel your pain no lie the only ones that fit are new ear and thats if you have the at the last hole

  • doing this to my rickie fowler puma hat

  • @heckahaute yo I emailed you guys...

  • what song is that?

  • Im in the process of doin it :)

  • nice video bro i want to do this cuz i have snap backs but they dont fit me unless i cut my hair and i dont want to i have fitted hats they fit perfect can i either make the snap back bigger or ima have to do this suggestions any 1???

  • Whats the name of the song??????

  • WOOT!! Learning how to make a snapback when you can just buy one. WOOOOOT!!!

  • @AndysGotSwag go to a local thrift store and buy a old shity hat and cut the snap off

  • Where can i get snapback tabs instead of cutting them off from another snapback?

  • I have a couple questions regarding the plastic snaps. How would i get in contact with someone from heckahaute aside from this comment box?

  • Or you could just buy a snapback??

  • What do you use for a "bias strip?"

  • @OhhDream you can make it urself..or go to a fabric store and request for a 1" bias strip.. it helps enclose the raw edges, so that ur shit dont fray..

  • @heckahaute Alright, thanks for the help. Definatly gunna be trying to do this to a few of my fitteds. Is the fabric just like any other black fabric then? Or is it some special type? Ill try finding some shit about it. Thanks for the help

  • this video would be so much better without the music video.

  • @MrMassacree i know...my bad...i was into dslr cameras at the time

  • You got an email or contact info? I got a hat I want made into a snap.

  • @louisana07 info at heckahaute dot c o m

  • Good video bro, thanks.

  • @24MASON24 God bless! and thanks!

  • Pro.

  • @LuvSnaps thanks!

  • Step 1. Buy A Snapback

    Done!

  • @zooyork285 step 1. Hate

    Since birth!

Seriously, you can't get that 5950 snapback fit with your regular snapbacks...FACT!

  • @zooyork285 You cant always get the colorways you can with fitteds. Vis versa

  • Fresh! How much do u charge to convert fitteds into snapbacks?

  • Fitted Hats & Fitted Hats turnt Snap Back look the best..

  • where do you buy the snaps for the hat?!?!

  • hey dude what do u sow the bias strip on, i couldnt tell

  • @TheToolShow Yeah dude... Just sew them together and fold it towards the inside the hat to hide the raw edges and then sew that sucker down again. 1 seam and 1 top stitch should do it.

    Bless,

    Mikey

  • its kinda retarded because u already have to have a snapback to cut off the snaps

  • @blackveilbrides110 I had brand new snaps to use, but I only cut off those snaps which was from a crappy thrift hat because I wanted to show you guys who can't get brand new snaps that you can just rip it off an existing crappy snap back hat. I don't really get what was retarded, but your poor grammar.

  • this is the most entertaining DIY video in hystory hommie

  • @LeanDreMPeters Blessed! Thanks homie...Truly appreciate it.

  • @LeanDreMPeters Blessed! Thanks homie. Truly appreciate it.

  • absolutely, omahgawd thank you!!! soo appreciate it man. now live a good life.

  • @ninjalover2925 haha...ur welcome! and I will try to live a good life. Thanks for your blessing. Stay safe!

  • ok, im sorry, im sorry! just one last final question, then im out forever.

by collared shirt, do u mean the rough kind, like on abercrombie shirts?

  • @ninjalover2925 If its a woven shirt than yes. best example i can give u is a collared shirt u wear to a wedding. Don't worry about the questions...I'm here to answer them... Stay safe!

  • oh my god, that very last comment helped me reach an epiphany. thank you!! im totally clear now, gonna do it probably next week. thanks bro.

  • i think im just gonna cut up an old shirt. would this work? or does it HAVE to be a certain material?

  • @ninjalover2925 Just as long as its not a knit and that its a woven shirt ie. collard shirt

  • yes, thank you! it helps very much. im excited, haha.

so i should use some jeans for it? im thinking thatd feel a lil uncomfortable. am i wrong, or...?

    thanks for your time! haha.

  • @ninjalover2925 haha no don't use a denim fabric. Try using like a khaki pant or chino twill trousers, or go to walmart and buy like a plain weave 100% cotton fabric. No problem buddy!

  • yes, thank you! it helps very much. im excited, haha.

so i think imma go to the store to get some fabric. should i get a whole sheet of fabric or get premade bias tape? thank you!!

  • im sorry for so many questions, im just not very smart. so what is a woven fabric? like the material on lrg shirts, or the stretch material on underarmor that is used for sports?

and once i cut a strip, how do i curve it around the round cut of the hole?

one last thing. can i do all this to a 210 flexfit hat? or does it HAVE to be fitted? thanks man, i really appreciate it.

  • @ninjalover2925 haha its okay! examples of a woven fabric is like denim jeans or like the fabric on ur hat. Knit examples would be like a shirt. Underarmor is a knit fabric which u shouldn't use for the bias strip application. That's what so cool about the bias strip it will curve naturally to the hole of the hat and it will be easy to fold into place to sew down. u can do this technique to any hat. I hope this helps...

  • so can i use like a shirt? and what do you mean 45 degree angle? and do i just sew the strip into the inside of the hat?

  • @ninjalover2925 if its a woven shirt yes. Do not use a pearl knit shirt. Ie. hanes shirts etc. the bias is 45 degree to the salvage. when u sew it make sure that the bias strip ends up in the inside of the hat when folded in and stitched down. I hope this helps. If not, just buy a bias tape from ur local fabric store and just ask someone one the floor how to sew a bias strip to a raw edge. Thanks!

  • what houshold cloth can i use for the bias strip? if none, where can i get a small roll for cheap?

and can someone explain to me how to do the bias strip thing? i dont understand.

  • @ninjalover2925 ne woven fabric will do, but make sure u cut the strip @ a 45 degree angle which is the bias of the fabric. Say u cut it on grain the strip u cut will have no stretch b/c its a woven fabric, but if u cut it on a 45 degree angle or the bias then it will have stretch. A woven havin stretch is the best fabric to apply onto circular areas such as this seam construction. Once the bias strip is sewn to the cut out area it will enclose the raw edges.

  • perfect music to keep us all interested bruhh.. good ishh

  • @Junior09095 thanks. I really appreciate it!

  • where can I buy plastic snaps

  • @maciejlondyn we carry brand new snaps...

  • so when u say right sides together is that from the inside or outside?

  • @nevino11 so the outside of the hat (the right side) and the face of the fabric, so if it has a print then the one with the print is the right side. If its a solid color then u can use which ever side, but practice using the right sides, so that u can use this technique when sewing other things.

  • I've watched this 20+ times... still haven't figured out what to do through getting side-tracked by the cypher.

  • @smithyog my bad.

  • I need to do this shit

  • @yoyomanalex YEA! DO THAT SHIT!

  • aye bro do you know were i can buy the snap for the back of it ?

  • @bigboy0311 Cop it from me...$2 for a brand new pair. What color?

  • @heckahaute make me a deal for a 10 sets

    of thm

  • @bigboy0311 sure buddy....like 10 hats or 10 pairs of snaps?

  • @heckahaute pairs of snaps

    were do you live ?

  • @bigboy0311 the bay area.

  • where can you get a snap for the back?

  • @23calderon Yo! We got brand new snaps....$2 for the pair ...What colors do you need?

  • do you need an extra thick needle to sew through the plastic snaps

  • @AcousticWashburn Try a 16 guage or 18 guage. When you ask the sales rep make sure u ask for like needle meant to sew through denim.

    Hope this helps.

  • Wait............Your saying destroy my existiing snapback just so I can turn my fitted into a snapback. Thats so waste. Just buy a good quality snapback and get rid of the fitted I have or something.

  • @AutobotzTV hey man free country do what u need to do to satisfy your lifestyle i guess...but no I didn't say destroy haha ur funny

  • @AutobotzTV This is if you like the design on the fitted but they dont have a snpaback version.

  • OR BUY A SNAPBACK.

  • @N8RH1 new era's snap backs aren't 5950's and the fabric new era uses on their snap backs are chino twills 100% cotton and not the standard wool blend they use on their 5950's. therefore of lower quality. So go buy one for $25 are just change your fitted yourself for $2... Boo Yah Sucka! haha jp..thanks for the comment

  • Darn it, I'm having trouble with the bias strip & sewing. The opening of my cap still looks cutten out. -..-

  • @CursedFingers thanks!

  • Thanks millions, now all my fitteds are updated

  • @bigbubba537 good to hear!

  • thubs up if you rather just buy a snapback hat instead of ruining your fitted hat

  • @The2blackguys ur funny

  • sorry but i am not understanding the bias strip part :/ any help?

  • @AuStIn12991 A fabric has both a lengthwise grain that runs parallel to the salvage and a crosswise (Wefth) grain that runs perpendicular to the salvage. The bias runs on a 45 degree angle. U have to cut the fabric a a 45 degree angle, so that the strip you cut will be stretchy. Once your done that you want to sew right sides together to the cut out part of the hat. Hope this helps. If you don't have any prior sewing background this might confuse you. Thanks

  • how to completely destroy your hat?

  • @Spec0pleader haha tell that to all my customers who loved their once over-sized or small fitteds turned into snap backs. Oh and those who wanted to replace their broken snap backs. Your too funny :) I love haters.

Thanks everybody who trusted me to turn your fitteds into snap backs. Blessed!

  • @heckahaute ;D

  • homie looks like a filipino hell yeah

  • feature some asian rap vid next time doggy

  • @cudencuden will do catty, but I don't see why it would matter.

  • sick vid i saved 27 dollars=D

  • what do you mean sew right sides together ? Is there a more clearly instructed video ?

  • @igetzoned401 fabric's have a face meaning the face side or face up side. For example, if a fabric had a print only on one side that print side would be considered the face side or the RIGHT SIDE. The back side of the fabric is the wrong side. In this case. Show right sides together.

  • @chibiryuk $20 if u supply the snapback. $25 if I provide it for you. Located in the Bay Area.

  • What's the song?

  • hey bro, i really want to make my pirates fitted to a snapback... but i can't sew, and it says you could sew it for us?

  • @Jaysonnn1 DM me your email. thanks!

  • How can you turn a strapback to a snapback?

  • @hudini2 the same process. I can do it for u

  • The one part I'm not getting is the bias strip. Where does that go and what is the purpose of it. Besides that, I thinking I'm ready to test it out on my old caps I don't wear any more.

  • @TheJoshuaResnick a bias cut is the stretchiest part of the fabric at 45 degrees. It encloses any raw edges that you cut out. If you don't know how to really sew or the process of garment construction then this might not make sense to you. If anything DM me your email and I can do it for you. thanks for the comment
