Thats becouse after the anexation of Bassarabia in 1812 by the Russian Empire they have brought alot of colonists, germsn, bulgarians, gagauz, others. Your grandpa should be one of that german colonists.

@Manuelsk850 : The "mistery" could be explain like this : in 1775 the Austrian Empire occupied the northern part of Bessarabia-Bukovina & brought colons from the Germanic areas. As you may know, Austrian Empire was not a "lamb" one, but a very tough one : over 150 orthodox monasteries burn or canon shot down in Transylvania (1689-1919). There is no doubt about the origin of your grandpa : Austrian. Probably fugitive to Brazil after WWII as soldier enrolled in the Nazi German army. Am I wrong ?

@Manuelsk850 : new details : In 1930 Bessarabia was part of Romania since 1920 and a strong monarchy, but not communist at all. At that time only Soviet Union was communist = single country in the whole world. Maybe your grandpa was coming from the Ukranian side = communist since 1917, but NOT Bessarabia. Bessarabia was taken by the soviets again in 1940 till 1941 & again since 1944 to present. Check on Google details about Bessarabia's history (dates). Something is unclear with his location.

Cu regret trebuie sa fac mentiunea ca inainte ca Romania sa faca parte din CEE, numai 70.000 basarabeni solicitasera cetatenia romana. Dupa momentul aderarii au navalit cateva sute de mii. Nu din dragoste fata de Romania, ci din interes : libera circulatie in CEE ! Nu suntem patrioti si astfel dusmanii razbesc. Se impune mai multa constiinta nationala din partea basarabenilor ! @roy88thebest Multumesc! Stiu, l-am facut gresit. Este primul video postat pe YouTube si nu am stiut ca se pierde din calitate. Pe deasupra, este facut ca slide si salvat in format video, iar asta l-a facut de la inceput de o calitate mai slaba.
