Also, can you explain what are the best mods, how many people play, etc? If I wanted to play also, what to do.

For example, I have tried a mod, where you can build buildings and then train units in them. But I hate the cross hair movement when shooting, and I guess the whole weapon behaviour. But i see you have a different cross hair- what mod?

It's hard to beat this game for immersion and realism. The AI sucked at times but sometimes worked well, but the friendly AI often drove me crazy. But I still go back and play it quite regularly which says a lot.

FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE and name it -nosplash -mod=@ffsx2007.

Like this:

"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANC­E.EXE" -nosplash -mod=@ffsx2007

Then you can play it.

hey bro can you please tell me how to use the AA Launcher? i kow that in real life you have to aim at a heat source (like the engine) for it to lock on and then fire but i can't do this in the game

i tried shooting down a chopper but it didn't work

@XShotGuyX When you find a chopper, aim AA at it and then click right mouse button to get a white square on the target. After then you should able to launch the rocket. It it doesnät work I don't have the answer.

I've tried other mods before and it didn't work for some reason. And yes I'm very familiar with computers have used mods to add to other games before, etc....

Have played Delta Force, DF2, DF Black Hawk Down, Ghost Recon, MOH, COD, BattleField 1942, BF2, BF2142, America's Army, bla bla bla.... all older games or when they first came out (not the very new stuff).

@Maasa1990 Hey thanks. I didn't find the 2.5 one though found one called FFUR '85 2008 1.0. It loaded fine though on most maps it doesn't show some foliage (only white) and it runs a little sluggish. Fortunately it had an easy uninstall tool. I might just reload BF2 since there are many mods for that. I would like to find a mod or crack that unlocks everything for BattleField 2142. I tried one that has been out for a while, but it didn't work.

That mod is like FFUR but it have maps of Winter,Desert and forest. The units are also in desert,winter,forest uniforms

Hey- Before I go downloading this mod, I'd like someone to tell me if it involves any sort of realistic aspects- Going beyond the combat, that is. Such as, interaction with civilians, and, after watching Generation Kill, I've got this MAJOR craving to find an Iraq war mod. FFUR feature such a thing, and again, if so, what's the.. I could say "Out-of-combat realism factor"? Again, like interacting with the civilian populace, that sort of thing.

@Jangofett221 download the dynamic campaign called Dynamic Afghanistan for OFP. It is one in all mission campaign.meaning the mission is dynamic,duh. You interact with civilians such as gettin information for enemy patrol so to properly set up ambush, also there is raid missions where you have to either capture an enemy leader or to assassinate it. There is also patrol missions where you patrol with either a heli or on foot with your squads, Defense mission and assault to major enemy hideouts.

compared to the rest of the game that one of the easy missions, which is one of the reasons i love this game, try placing satchel charges on the road and hide till they come.

i forgot to mention that the spetnaz that drop out of the helicopter in the second level where your standing in a line waiting to be killed has the charges you'll have to kill them and take them as well as the night vision goggles...don't stay to long there will be a tank 5 mins after you shoot them.

BIS had trouble with the name since Codemasters copyrighted it, so they just gave it a new name and sent it into battle against CM :)

@TheMast3rBF2 I agree. But OFP is not and never was, and never will be the new OFP. Bohemia the developers of OFP had nothing to do with Dragon Rising. That dirty job is the work of Codemasters (the original publishers of OFP :cold war crisis.) This great game has been relabelled as Cold war Assault in 2011 and is still going strong thanks to an amazing loyal community and excellent mod makers who keep giving the game a shot in the arm like FFUR. Arma II is the sequel, not Dragon Rising.

This game is still alive. Dragon rising can't beat this. I don't know about Arma, but it isn't bad game either.

The best thing about OFP Cold War Crisis is three long campaigns + mods.

OK, arma 2 engine is better of course, because it's newer, but come on, it's just another usa vs terrorist game, where is the emotion?

Playing with Dmitri Lukin and kickin an entire m60 platoon with a wrecked t72 or making ambushes with Victor Troska... arma 2 doesn't have that kind of adrenaline
