  • what a fukin gem

  • I'd agree, although i quite like 'Come In Come Out'.. and listen to that more than any of the songs on that that album.

  • their best song? possibly, methinks.

  • This probebly doesnt mean much to most of you but I'm a picky man who mainly loves hard rock, I've found that the La's album and the cast album "mother nature calls" are on a fairly short list of music that floats my boat. Check out "Jumping bean" by John Power! go on listen to it next, you wont be dissapointed.

  • lee mayers is a far better singer than that manc nob lame gallcacker

  • and yeah they do lift chords and that every know and then. but who doesn't. look at the roses, the jam and the who. Was listening to a northern soul track called sufferin city the other day and the drum intro was exactly the same to the i am the resurection drum intro. listen to start by the jam. then tell me its not slightly like taxman by the beatles. can't explain the who, then all day and all of the night by the kinks. everyone does it.

  • major ups for the high fidelity. I will be a subscriber....

  • What a sweet jam!

  • Some tune! I agree with the guy below!

  • you look at the bands us that grew up in the 90's had compared to the bands that are around now... can see why peaches geldoff is famous. fucking joke generation. give me urban hymes and whats the story any fucking day.

  • I grew up in the 90s and remember people saying the same thing then, you're starting to sound real old. Awesome song tho

  • nice little number by the La's here...

  • to the one who said that this shit's on oasis, well they really respect the la's, alot! so why would you say some shit like that?

  • wankaaaaaaaar

  • Stop being a baby.

  • Have better taste in music.

  • Spot on!

Those have ALWAYS been my sentiments PRECISELY!

    I'll second that one anytime!

  • true its weird how things pan out.what happened revolt kick the dance rap hardcore to fuck. bring back the genius's that have been forgotten. so much talent going to waste.

  • Great song.

  • i swear im in love with this band hahaa

    i dont know whyy

cause there not at all what i would normally like

  • Classic Group, great music and stubbron perfectionists...cool

  • THIS SHITS ON OASIS

    OASIS ARE SHITE

  • fuck off. people with a simplistic knowledge of music will always compare every fucking mancunian band to oasis. The La's have a great sound, the roses have a great sound, oasis have a great sound, not everything needs to be compared to oasis. they arent oasis, so stop fucking mentioning oasis, and just listen to it and judge it on its own fucking merit, not how it compares to oasis

  • out of interest, bearing in mind this was realeased five years prior to oasis, surely you compare oasis to the la's.

incedentally, the la's being one of the main influences of oasis. looking glass being noel gallaghers fave tune

  • not really, i just listen to both their songs, and when i hear a similarity i just smile and think "oh noel you old soft serve". i love both bands. And thats the thing with oasis, people talk about them being influenced by the beatles but i hear alot more of The La's, T. Rex and Slade in their sound. i dont compare them like i dont compare me mum n me dad(however if i was being honest id say me dad would edge it slightly).

  • Totally agree. When I got this album it made me realise that oasis just liftd all the best parts off of The Beatles, The Roses, Smiths and the La's. Don't get me wrong I like Oasis but now I have alot less respect for them due to their blatant plagurism.

  • nah i love oasis, and i think the plagiarism thing is just a base argument. The Smiths, not really, influenced, yeah, but they arent even jangly. beatles, if they didnt mention them all the time noone would say a thing. ive always thought they sound alot more like t-rex and slade, specially definitely maybe.

  • the La's are from Liverpool not Manchester. Noel Gallagher has said he always compares his new songs to "Looking Glass" by the La's. He difinately did with the masterplan and he gives it a mention in the lyrics! He also often wears a La's badge on his jacket! you're totally right about people comparing bands to oasis though! whats all that about. they should just enjoy a band for what they are and not make comparisons!!!!

  • yeah i realised the mistake afew days after i wrote that comment. You can definitely hear The La's in Oasis though, like those parts in their songs when they kinda go off on a slightly different path(usually after the 2nd chorus) before going back to the conventional verse of the song.

  • ya right lad

  • I GOT THAT FEELING

    EFC FOR LIFE

  • as good as early Stones

  • The album is up there with 'The Stone Roses' and 'Definitely Maybe'

  • this is class, pure class la!

  • The riff on this sounds like it was borrowed from the Stone's 'Prodigal Son'....'that'll be the way to get along...'

  • Shit! this rocks out my ass!

  • QUALITY, ABSOLUTE QUALITY

Anyone who hasnt got this LP needs shooting.

  • Tell y'ur uncle Thank you for me

  • just a fool for a lonesome train.... lee mavers by a country mile the best songwriter melody maker these isles have seen... but ill say it again.. a fool for a lonesome train....

  • A heroin honeymoon of a band. You cant say no when you get bands as great as these were, but the comedown, the withdrawl man.

  • this has always been my fave La's song. Never saw the video though before

  • Last Train to Clarksville anyone?

  • Get a grip

  • The Monkees Last Train To Clarksville..find it, play it, there are strong similarities

  • True. I think it is more an inspiration than plagiarism...

  • I didnt listen this lilyc, becouse Im Japanese and I dont know English very much.

But when I read the translated lilyc, Ican feel ...I can feel! I can feel you! I love you!!!

  • The only thing wrong with this song is that it's too short. Just when you get into it - it's over..

  • Why this band werent huge is beyond me

  • I think it has to do with Mavers problems with the music industry and the press media...

  • this song so rocks. very beatleques. short and punchy.

  • Luvs23 Perhaps you didn't listen to the song?

it's in no need of 'fine tuning'.

    the song is perfect.

  • This song should have been bigger than There She Goes - in my opinion. Such a wonderful, short upbeat pop song.

  • ohhh man, i love that beatles-style english rock. the la's rock!

  • cool man

  • i love this song

  • Brilliant. If you can't say it in two minutes don't bother.

  • You're right. This is the perfect Pop Song.

  • Proving that the best Pop songs should bow out short of 2 minutes...love the early Beatles riff too...

  • a could-be, would-be classic with some fine tuning,etc.

  • Ballsy and brilliant... I'd love to shag the girl in the black top!

  • Timeless, brilliant.......from one of the best albums ever.

  • short and fantastic

  • every single man woman and child should be made aware of the la's

  • 2nd that

  • shit hot.couple of good versions on the bbc sessions.get involved...

  • The perfect pop song, with the perfect ending

  • I love this song too. Superb. Thanks.

  • This song is the G-Damn Jam!!!

  • genius...

  • ta la! lee mavers is a god.

  • i love this song!!
