You know there was a PC game made of fading Suns called Empire of the Fading Suns, came out in 1993! I won it and there is a gameplay video on YT if your interested.
Well, to be fair, both 40k and Fading Suns have a large debt to Classic Traveller, which started the whole "Roman/Byzantine Empire in Space" trope in RPGs -- of course, the idea had been around in SF fiction since the 1940s.
To me Fading Suns is like 40k but "grown up". Fading Suns is a far more gameable universe than 40k IMHO, with more options for different play styles and more politics/subterfuge going on.
But then I could never take the whole "Chaos spiky bits/there is only war" attitude of 40k very seriously.
I just hope that people won't jump on "oh, stealth advertising" bandwagon with comments. I'm glad to see you reviewing some fresh, indie stuff as well as systems that never got the attention deserved. Fading suns rulebook was an interesting read and I regret I got no chance to play it.

How does Arcane Tech relate to Forbidden Lore? I'm wondering if it's worth getting your hand on the later when the first is coming out.

Any plans to review Ray Winniger's UnderGround? I was a Kid when it came out, so I kinda missed the boat on that.

Hehehe. I asked about an Arcane Tech review in comments on #73, I didn't expect to get my wish so soon.
I also asked about Shadowrun. Is next week good for you? :)

I Liked Fading Suns, but it seemed a bit copy/pasted from warhammer 40k's fluff.
