Look, showdowns, gymkhanas, and so on, are a real pleasure to watch. They are highly annoying to play though and this is quite obvious. Me and most of my gamer-mates preffer to skip or simply pass them in DIRT3 . In a real special car if skilled maybe it'll be fun but most of us are just gamers and to doorsforward corners for points, around a stupid artificial obstacles on some boring stadium sitting in your room is everything but fun...oh and the feeling of freedom :) goes to hell.

Wrong direction for me....it now appeals to fireworks, drifters and fast arcadey players. I prefer it to be more realistic and sim...(but that doesn't sell) GIVE ME GRID WITH BETTER PHYSICS and I'll buy it twice. Now it's explosions and sponsored by Mountain Dew (plug) and 10 people that I've never heard of who, claim to be competitve drivers. MONSTER=Chemically unhealthy drink as well. Sponsors of crap...to get more money to make a better game. Good trade off. Love the damage-THE BEST

@BlurredWolf I agree, I played it for a while and it was fun. Graphics were Crysis level for a racing game, sound was top notch, controls were good. I just miss the "soul" and authenticity of pure rally racing. Dealing with repair times between stages, seeing percentages of the track surface to make better decisions on how to set your car up, more detailed car adjustments, rather than say what dashboard ornament you want. I am just saying I miss the Colin McCrae Dirt.

@budokai140 I can see where you are coming from, but if the games fun its fun. And unfortunately idk if there are any hardcore rally sims around anymore, however I have never tried the WRC games. I think that the new DiRT games should be taken for what they are, and in that context they are excellent. But it evidently is a shame to some who miss the complexity of older games in the series.
