@datispasdavid Nope, real drummer: Carl-Michael Eide a.k.a. Czral, but heavily post-processed in a computer. Czral hardly feels a connection to this album because of the processing. He's also been involved with legendary (and not so legendary) bands as Ulver, Ved Buens Ende, Satyricon and Dimmu Borgir.
Although it's nothing like this music, I recommend to check out "The Agent That Shapes the Desert" by Virus, which is Czrals current band. Some weird desert rock/jazz combination.
To me this album is almost equal to Thriller from MIchael J, The Darkside of The moon from Pink Floyd and as Red Album from King Crimson or even In the Court of the Crimson King. The way these albums has been produced and recorded plus the feeling it gives are so strong feeling that makes them an ultimate master piece, *bowdown* Dodheimsgard come play in Canada.
@datispasdavid I understand you misudnerstood the concept of sound. The albums I've been naming are well known to be the best recorded album in studio ever made or near of it. I personally find "International 666" to be one of these. Because you barely heard anything near to this album. They're totally welcoming you in their "world" and mindfuck you up till your head blow up !
a lot of people would misinterpret your statement... either that or they'd get mad at you for comparing those mainstream bands to this, or by just simply mentioning those unrelated bands :p
This song has something familiar with Satyricon's Tied in Bronze Chains off Rebel Extravaganza... do you agree?? I don't mean notes nor chords but the feeling.
I listen to mostly industrial, black metal and classical and love combining the genres.Makes life a bit more interesting from the composer point of view.I'm by no means an elitist.I like the raw power of black metal but from time to time it's fun to stray.XD
haha most twisted albums? are you crazy? sounds a bit like newer satyricon and a bit more twisted. i lover the albumsupervillian outcast, its very very original.
There are two bands under the name of "Helheim" and both from Norway which makes it even more confusing! The industrial band used to call themselves 'Helheim Society' to avoid confusion - definitely worth checking their EP out, its awesome!
I like this album by them, though I don't like supervillain outcast at all...
The question here would be, even if some of them are good...why is it so many bands fuse Black Metal (a sub-genre of "metal" music)...with industrial? I would like to know who came up with the idea and when (I would guess someone around the mid-90's)...oh yeah, and why?
I'm not saying it's bad or anything, but it raises a lot of questions...specially when a band that used to play pure black metal (like DHG).
I guess it´s because black metal should remain raw, and mixing it with dance music just wouldn´t work. I think that many bands grow tired of the rather limited riffing, and try new expressions because of this. Sometimes, like here, it is very successful.
If you like this industrial-black-metal style check out for the bands: Mysticum, Diabolos Rising, Cuntworm, Maschinenzimmer 412, In Slaughter Natives, Brighter Death Now, Archon Satani \m/
Beautiful. At some parts it reminds me slightly of the re-recorded version of the Covenant album.
Drumcomputer? Sounds nice though.

Also check out the EP by Helheim called Fenris (not to be confused with the viking metal band of the same name)
Only four tracks, but on par with Mysticum when it comes to industrial black metal IMO

I thought the 'other' Helheim was some black/thrash band? Maybe I'm wrong.

good points, a good example is the symphonic side to black metal *eg. Dimmu because they're famous for it* as it works brilliantly

ISN, Masch 412 & Brighter Death are more ambient, industrial neo-folk stuff.
