tetsuya's jumps are amazing! the man jumps his own height, but everything is still perfectly placed. his low demi-pointe in his left foot during the pirouettes bugs me a bit though, especially because he has beautiful feet. didn't like her fouettes one bit...

@MrJigglybum Yes, it is used in Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake as well as Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux.

@TheBunduBallerina Supposedly, it is the original Black Swan pas music, but the first ballerina didn;t like it, so Tchaikovsky had to cannibalize music from the first act to make what we know as Black Swan, or so the legend goes.

@jkokich No, the original Grand Pas from Act III of Swan Lake was a Pas de six (the coda of which is used here). The Tchaikovsky PDD music was composed later especially for Sobeshchanskaya, a Bolshoi ballerina, because she disliked the music of the Pas de six. For some reason, all the companies that retain the Pas de six coda use the male variation from the Tchaikovsky PDD, probably because in the original production Siegfried did not get to dance at all.

@MrNocco Yes, he still does this role. I was lucky enough to see him play this role the other day. He is near forty now, but his jumps and pirouettes were superb. He has his own ballet company "K-ballet", where he is the artistic director as well. If you check its website you'll be able to find more information on him.

@ballettopiu I would love to help. Unfortunately I have no idea where one can find Viviana's Odile. As you see, in this version, Monica Perego does Odile and Viviana Durante does Odette. If I ever find Durante's Odile, I will let you know.
