I've never seen a blackwing damselfly back in California. But when I came to Minnesota there were a ton of them. I even got to hold one up close. Very exciting :D

the most rarest kinds ive seen are a red one and a blue with a tint kind of shday like green feathers and a rainbow kind that at blue wings and a half green and orange and at the bottom of it were black stripes but this kid scared it away

I relate to this insect on a higher level, to those who would eat them I say ... down boys.. !

I love the variety you have been able to capture on film as I have only caught a few in my trials.

I did manage to get a lovely picture of them procreating and they joined and formed a heart shape...... and a beautiful batch of pictures of one tiny blue in my tomato patch...

pure magic-where I am in Kansas is full of them now-every kind, must be the humid atmosphere..usually we find them at reservoirs or lake areas around here, I rather think of them as a magical fairy, a bit like our fireflys which seem to be as many in number these days. And might I compliment you on the song-reminds me of the group Renaissance from the 70s...loved them, Annie Haslam had a most beautiful voice.

Thank you. It's a British gothy/folk band called 'All About Eve', the track being 'What Kind of Fool (Autumn Rhapsody) from 1988. I think the band are now defunct but their albums are all still available.
