How do you sample into a macbook? I have an audio output on my mac and 2 usb. doesn't seem I can get the record to play through the maschine..when I record it just records my mic input as if i was speaking at my computer..picking up my speakers. please help thanks

@therealmelmac im on a mac, i use sound flower to play through, maschine, it is quite complicated and must be setup everytime, when u get used to it takes like 10 secs though, but it is quite hard, just warning you!

I've seen a few posts about sampling the audio coming out of the Mac itself. I use Soundflower to do this; it lets you push the audio from an application through a seperate (soundflower) audio channel. You can then sample using that channel as the source. Google Soundflower for the app.

Massive shout out to Maschine; had this product for 2 weeks and it is truly awesome. A psuedo hardward sampler with an interface that feels so intuitive, excellent job Native Instruments.

For all Maschine users!!!.....I got a major problem, When I export my beat from maschine, to iTunes, I get hear a bad distortion in the song...but when I play the song thru maschine I do not hear the distortion, is anyone else having this problem??..Whats going on??....Please HELP...

@d0Ikon0b iTunes is fucked. I've had that problem with sound files from all different sources. It might not be on the sound file itself but coming somehow out of iTunes

After recording, stay in the sampling menu. Press button 2 for the Edit tab and arrow over to the third page with the button below sampling. You can adjust your attack and decay there. Hope that helps.

As i leave sampling mode, i do not have a control tab on the lefthand side screen as shown at 1:39??, it just comes up master,group,sound and modules tabs.? it seems "control" does not exist on my maschine?...could you please help soon very fustrating...even your explanation below does not help? because control tab does not exist..?

I cant figure out how to bring up the amplitude/envelope options on the right screen after sampling and slicing the sample to all 16 pads on group c? Ive been using the mpc for 10 yrs and just started on the maschine today. If anybody in here is familiar with zoning/chopping samples on the mpc...is there a simple way on here to do that same thing in maschine?  I want all sliced samples to play so when I hit one pad then another the sound from the last pad stops playing once I hit the next pad.

How do I get the loop to hold? I cant find the amplitude envelope option or the sustain mode?

@ismaelsapien To make the sample hold 1)press the sampling button to get out of sampling mode. 2)Then on the right screen adjust the hold (set at 100%) and the decay (set to 0%) with their assigned knobs. *You can also use the sustain knob assigned to the left screen to make the sample play as long as the pad is held down.* Hope this helps(=

@damnelderly No, if your samples are digitized on a hard or flash drive all you do is 1) go to the broswer in maschine and click disk. 2) select the drive that the samples are stored on and selecet the folder that the samples are stored in 3) Select the sample(s) that you want from the list and press import. Choose the tag from the Bank/ type/ subtype lists and click Ok. NOTE - When choosing multiple samples choose the same kind as they will carry the same tag i.e. snares, kicks...

@dandhstanley under the maschine record panel, you should see options for input. i set mine to input 1 L+R. it also helps if you get an audio-routing utility like Soundflowerbed. I use that one, its great, you can set up so you sample right from youtube or itunes, whatever

@djlastlaugh You can convert Itunes songs to .WAV files in Itunes. Go to Itunes > preferences and open the "import settings window." Change the "import using" option to "WAV Encoder," & hit ok. Next, highlight the song you want to sample in itunes.Select, Advanced>Create WAV Version. Itunes will make a .WAV for you. Click and drag the new file on your desktop. You can find the file in the maschine software by selecting "disk" in the browser. Then you can load it and edit it however you want.

I have a problem with sampling, when I want to sample from extern source, the Maschine just records sound through the microphone, which is integrated in my macbook pro. I don`t know, what audio settings I have to change, in order to be able to sample from itunes, the NI Massive synth etc. PLEASE HELP ME!

Just purchased the Maschine and i'm having trouble sampling and even hearing audio thru my studio monitors. I have my External audio source plugged into my interface, I can hear the external audio thru my monitors, but when I hit start, the maschine shows waiting and the neither the audio equalizers are moving. Did I not setup correctly? Is there any you guys can post a video showing how to hookup Maschine to get the customers on the right path with basic equipment. I read the manual but it
