why in this game are most of the predators bigger than the t rex only three preds surpassed the rex ironicly the spino was suppose to be the biggest but in this game was smaller than the trex wtf.
well actually Spino was bigger then Sucho which was smaller if not sorta equal in size of the T-rex but Sucho was more then double the size of Baryonyx
Spino, Sucho, and Baryonyx were all highly related and were very slender fish eating dinos that lived at bodies of water to prey on much smaller fish
tyrannosaurs were built for much larger prey and are more experienced at doing so
@KILLSHOCK1100 T-rex hardly hunted at all. The Tyrannosaurus was more of a scavenger like a Hyena (except the Aardwolf), because even though it could've been a hunter, it wasn't really good at it. You can tell because the T-rex had short arms and only 2 fingers. I don't think it would be easy hunting with short arms with 2 tiny fingers. And what do you know about a T Rex living in packs? No evidence found in fossils.
@Funkermonster irony to that statement is that the scavenger theories on t-rex literally never had any real evidence, extremely inconsistent and it has been debunked. It is actually a very small theory that exploded simply because Jack ranted about to the media. In fact, it has been strongly proven that nothing of that size could even mainly scavenge.
@Funkermonster Sure, had a carcass just so happened to be there and t-rex was given the option, likewise it would take it like all carnivorous dinosaurs would and even the most successful hunters today such as lions, tigers, bears, wolves, etc.
In other words, t-rex is not only mainly proven to be a very active hunter(as factual evidence strongly concludes) but by all means, it needed to be in order to obtain the substances and amount of nourishment required just to survive.
@Funkermonster It appears that you have very little acknowledgement on how theropod anatomies work and function. Keep in mind that t-rex isn't the only one with relatively small arms. Just about 80-90% of all large carnivorous theropods from all family groups have arms small for their size including giganotasaurus(carnosaur). Not to mention that all theropods(especially large) didn't have flexible shoulders and wrist.Their arms had a very small role for large theropods in general.
@Funkermonster Now acknowledging the fact that just about 80-90% of all large carnivorous theropods that were not piscivoirs had very small arms for their size(including giganotaand carcharo) explicitly means that their bites were much more important(also the fact that they lacked flexibility to their wrists and shoulders). T-rex arms are slightly smaller than gigas(both had small arms) caused for an investment of a one bite killer blow which is significantly much more effective
@Funkermonster Basically, the investment tyrannosaurids made for their jaws is actually on of if not the greatest weaponry trait ever found on a large canivorious dinosaur as for its bite is more then capable of killing prey and opponents with just a single bite. T-rex's bite would easily crush, rip and tear massive chunks and cause dramatically fatal blows to massive areas very deeply through bones(especially with its crushing 12in teeth) in a single chomp.
@Funkermonster The reason why t-rex needed such a powerful bite that kills with a single chomp with much more better rooted serrated 12in teeth is due to its development and prey. When observing the geological timeline and fossil records, what we see is that tyrannosaurids simultaneously developed with ceratopsians(and other armored prey that became very common). Evidence that t-rex hunted is also mainly found on ceratopsian fossils that shows that they fought relentlessly
@Funkermonster T-rex also had the greatest sense based abilities ever found on a large theropod such as one of the greatest(if not the greatest)sight capability ever known(ll ther theropod family groups actually have basic if not poor eye sight, especially in comparison). T-rex had a very keen highly depth hearing(which also far surpasses other family groups). Lastly, its sense of smell which allows it to track and follow any prey item, as well as identify even if it cannot see it
@Funkermonster With such an advance array of senses greater than any other large theropod in sight, smell and hearing makes t-rex a very alert, precise and efficient hunter. Unlike any other primitive theropod, t-rex also as a substantially high intellect which made it a very intelligent tactical, strategic hunter which is also a major factor for a hunter, especially on e that hunted the most dangerous armored prey on land such as ceratopsians.
@KILLSHOCK1100 There is no way Tyrannosaurs killed prey with just a single bite. It all depends on the species of the victim. One possible discovery could offer proof that Tyrannosaurus rex was a scavenger -- evidence of healed-over tyrannosaur bites in other fossils. Most fossilized dinosaurs died from events unrelated to being eaten, so it should be easy to tell whether they survived past attacks from predators.
@Funkermonster "There is no way Tyrannosaurs killed prey with just a single bite" Actually it can as its jaws were specifically designed to do. T-rex had jaws that can smash steel with 12in massive serrated crushing teeth and its bite would be massive. T-rex's bite would easily crush, rip and tear massive chunks of flesh, meat and bone out very deeply at large areas which would ultimately equate to a dramatically fatal blow, just from a single bite.
@Funkermonster "evidence of healed-over tyrannosaur bites in other fossils" These healed marks are actually due to creatures that were lucky enough to escape by fleeing or fought. Truth is, in actuality, prey normally prevails in escape even for lions, tigers, bears, etc. This is even more true when it's a ceratopsian such as triceratops which is actually a very equal match for t-rex and is actually one of the most fearsome prey item in history.
@Funkermonster Those marks actually proved that there was a preditor/prey relationship which yet again weakens the scavenger theories
"Most fossilized dinosaurs died from events unrelated to being eaten"Not true, they are uncertain but were likewise attacked by another t-rex sometime later as for they were the biggest and most fearsome carnivore of its time and raptors wouldn't even dare face ceratopsians(especially triceratops). This happens a lot with water buffaloes and lions
@KILLSHOCK1100 You're wrong. A T-rex could not kill an Iguanadon, Ankyloaurus, Triceratops, Styracosaurus, Torosaurus, or any other Large Dinosaur in one bite. The largest thing is could swallow in one bite would have to be only a few centimeters larger than a European Bison. The T rex didn't have such high intellect; Rahonavis, Velociraptors, Troodons, and Allosauruses did. The T rex had a brain about the size of a gorilla's.
@KILLSHOCK1100 Look at the Spinosaurus, Allosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Velociraptor, and some other theropods. They may have short arms, but they are nowhere near as ahort as a Tyranosaur's. It takes more than just bites to win fights. Hyenas have bite forces strong enough to crush bones, yet they still get killed by Lions. There is no way a T rex could kill a Triceratops in one bite. The Tyrnanosaurus wasn't even the largest carnivorous dinosaur. Research it, smarty pants.
@Funkermonster Spino has large arms simply because it needed them to cut its captured fish prey as for it could not rip or tear flesh with its jaws, snout and conical teeth(its arms couldn't even reach as far as its neck).
Ceratosaurus is a medium sized theropod and like majority of them, its arms are bigger to its body compared to large theropods but it itself didn't have such large arms.
I'll talk about velociraptors on the following comment
@Funkermonster Velociraptors re not actually the 6ft tall Jp depicted versions that you think, it is actually about the size of a turkey. Raptors had larger arms compared to their bodies simply because they were more than light enough and would jump on prey while using their sickle foot claws to slice the flesh of their prey until they bleed to death.
All of which are completely different compared to large carnivorous dinosaurs, especially of which that hunted large land prey.
@Funkermonster "It takes more than just bites to win fights" Which t-rex also has much more. Aside from its killer bite, t-rex had a very high intellect, heavily built muscular body that gave it immense strength and can easily over power prey and opponents. That and is robust anatomy, thick muscular neck and impact resistant ramming skull made very durable(a very carnivore based attribute). It was also built for ramming(its ramming skull can break bone).
@Funkermonster Its sight, smell and hearing also made it a very alert, precise and efficient hunter as well as giving it an edge when hunting or fighting opponent(yet again as all, MAJOR PREDATOR oriented traits)
What it still comes down to is that t-rex is by all mean not a scavenger(there really isn't even much to consider it). However, like I said, had t-rex was given the option, it would take it like all carnivorous dinosaurs and even the most successful hunters of today
@KILLSHOCK1100 The T rex did not hunt in packs, no evidence found from fossils. Have there ever been any T rex fossils found in a group at least 75% of the time? NO! And the T-rex's ramming skull could not break bones, the pachysephalosaurs did that. And the T rex is thought to be a very slow mover only walking instead of running. And the T'rex isn't as smart as you think. Some of them ate so fast they choked to death.
@KILLSHOCK1100 The T-rex is thought to have stolen kills from other dinosaurs, and only rarely caught something on it's own. Look it up already. It had to use it's tiny little arms for something, maybe it was for marking territories on trees or something (it's just my small guess). And the T rex is not much smarter than hadrosaurs or ceratopsiams.
1. T-rex attempts to attack a herd of Parasauralophus
@KILLSHOCK1100 I think you're the one who has very little knowledge on theropods. There was no evidence of T-rex hunting in packs. Paleontologist Jack Horner has been a major advocate of the idea that Tyrannosaurus was exclusively a scavenger and did not engage in active hunting at all. A tyrannosaur's teeth were not well adapted to systematically chewing bone like hyenas do to extract marrow. The T-rex has short arms compared to other theropods, even the Allosaurus. Look it up, genius.
@Funkermonster Actually, there is actually more evidence that t-rex may have been a pack hunter than there is for giganotasaurus. Giganotasaurus is theorized to be a pack hunter because it lived with argentinosaurus which is still just a theory. Tigers today live with Asian elephants and yet they are very solitary hunters which is an example on how the giga pack hunting theory is flawed. Other carnosaurs may of been but it's not as evident as tyrannosaurids
@Funkermonster T-rex evolved from very social pack oriented hunters. It is actually very evident that tyrannosaurids in general lived in family groups(much like that of a lion's pride) and were very intelligent. This would mean that logically not only were t-rexes pack hunters but they would of been much more efficient than any carnosaur pack.
Jack is actually very known for his lacks in consistency and has barely even made pasted high school(never been to college)
@Funkermonster Still to this day, Jack has provided zero evidence whereas not only is trex strongly proven to be an active hunter but the scavenger theories have debunked. However, if you actually listen to Jack, he very inconsistent, defying factual evidence and logic and is very, ignored the geological timeline and seem to know very little on creatures to begin with.
@Funkermonster "A tyrannosaur's teeth were not well adapted to systematically chewing bone like hyenas do to extract marrow"You either terribly misconstrued what I typed or just didn't even read my context. I said t-rex's bite would easily crush, rip and tear massive chunks and cause dramatically fatal blows to massive areas very deeply through bones(especially with its crushing 12in teeth) in a single chomp
Also, what you just said is a major blunder to the scavenger theories
