  • it would be better if they blue angles did it, Then number 6 would fly up to heaven.

  • I agree, but I could not imagine getting out of bed let alone flying a plane after I lost one of my comrades.

  • They did a missing man at my dad's funeral.

  • The Marine Corps lives forever. And that means YOU live forever!

  • You don't die without permission in Marine Corps.

  • It is very sad!!!:( But, he is free as a bird now and held his hand about us!

  • A very nice job done by the Geico Skytypers. These, the missing man formations, always get to me when watching them. I can only imagine it must have been very difficult going on with the show the day after losing one of their comrades. But I guess that is what separates them from us. God bless them all! Thanks for sharing this fabulous, yet solemn, tribute to the fallen number 6. Great work!

  • always makes me cry when i here this.

  • I really don't know how, but seeing a missing man formation makes me sadder than, say, seeing a crash itself...

  • and they will all go the there brother, kind words. these brave men will live one on. HOOWA

  • My apologies on the length of this...

Here's a poem read before the missing man formation of a friend of mine

  • I hope there's a place way up in the sky, Where airmen can go when they die.

A place where a guy can buy a cold beer,

For a friend and a comrade, whose memory is dear.

A place where no doctor or lawyer can tread,

Nor a management type would ere be caught dead.

Just a quaint little place, kind of dark, full of smoke,

Where they like to sing loud, and love a good joke.

The kind of a place where a lady could go,

And feel safe and protected by the men she would know.

  • There must be a place where old airmen go,

When their paining is finished, and their airspeed gets low

Where the whiskey is old and the women are young

And songs about flying and dying are sung.

Where youd see all the fellows who'd flown west before

And theyd call out your name as you came through the door

  • Who would buy you a drink if your thirst should be bad

And relate to others He was quite a good lad

And then through the mist youd spot an old guy

You had not seen in years though he taught you to fly

Hed nod his old head and grin ear to ear

And say, "Welcome my son Im pleased that youre here

  • For this is the place where true flyers come,

When their journey is over and the war has been won

They've come here at last to be safe and alone

From the government clerk and the management clone

Politicians and lawyers the Feds and the noise Where all hours are happy and these good ol boys

Can relax with a cool one and well deserved rest

This is heaven my son, You've passed your last test!"

  • Jerk....

  • I thought it was cool how they stopped "Taps" when they flew over, and when the plane broke away they finished it...very touching. :)

  • Dude, it isn't funny. Apparently, you have no idea what happened.

  • RIP #6. You have a new set of wings now.

  • rip kevin, you will be missed greately, my fav pilot. godspeed

  • i cant keep from crying when i hear and see this. very toching. if u dont even start to tear ur a terriost.

  • Learn to have some Respect

  • i was laughing at the fact that hes a total retard, saying that if you dont cry your a terrorist, i mean thats totally stupid, further down he says someone is going to hell for saying hes a retard. i do have alot of respect for the pilot of BA #6, just not for idiots like hotshotmarine...

  • piss off non patriot faggot get out of this country

  • fuck u man ur going to hell for sure

  • Oh, you mean just like I'm a terrorist for not crying? Do you even know what a terrorist is?(I'll give you a hint, it's NOT someone who hates America, otherwise the entire world would be a terrorist)

  • lol

  • RIP #6

  • as a fellow pilot, i must forward my condolences to the family of this fallen legend. It is on of the pinnacles of aviation to be allowed the honour of flying for any military demonstration team, and for him to be in the blue angels, he must have been the best of the best. RIP brother.

  • rip #6

  • RIP

  • I respect the missing man thing but what I don't get is why dose that 1 aircraft have somke is that sapse to be the missing man

  • The smoke is a visual and lets you know pretty much which one to watch. The missing man formation is a way pilots honor those who fell before them, either in combat or for those who have earned it through completion of meritorious service. May the pilot who earned this honor rest in peace.

  • oh ok ty

  • R.I.P. to the pilot who lost his life

  • that sad...i was almost gonna be a pilot but the USNA declined me cause of my colorblindness...

  • hey man theres still hope. you can take to the skies through private instruction. Im on minimum wage and im getting flying lessons done. But then again i dont know how the licensing system works over there in the land of the free... im 'down under'... with the flying kangaroo! :)

  • yea, but i didnt wanna just fly...wanted to be a fighter pilot...oh well...PD here i come

  • haha no offense but you can't distinguish the colors on the runways?

  • I always get goosebumps watching the missing man...it symbolizes SO much.

    RIP

  • Any and every pilot is a brother of mine

    <Salute>

May god be with you and your family

  • I love watching the Blue Angels. I've seen them since I knew what the word "airplane" meant. It is true, this video makes me sad for the #6 too.

  • i got goosebumps

  • my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the #6 pilot

    GOD BLESS THE U.S.A

  • RICKD u are so right i cant keep a dry eye

  • SILENT

    whit tears in my eyes

  • God bless and God Speed! R I P # 6. My prayers are with you and your family! <SALUTE>

  • <Salute!>

  • That was an awesome tribute. Unlike the normal missing-man, the V formation was set aside for the traditional Blue Angels Delta. To further see the appropriate position pull away was perfect. I've followed the Blue's since I was 5. I cannot imagine a more fitting tribute.

  • You know, That just Hits you Right there.. i cry when i see this..

  • My Thoughts and Prayers go out to the family of Lt. Cmdr Kevin Davis and the rest of the Blue Angel team.

  • Can anyone listen to those notes and watch that formation and keep a dry eye?

  • nope. thats an impossibility, and IF you can keep a dry eye, you must be an absolute asshole!

  • WOW that gave me goosbumps.....
