WRONG. The founding fathers were opposed to a central religion appointed by the covernment. Read the first 16 words of the first ammendment. It states that the government shall make no state-organized religion. Likewise the government should not favor one religion over another. The founding fathers said in interviews that they all were in favor of seperation of church and state, as either one intermingling results in cases like the Crusades and the spanish inquisition.

If you can find a single piece in the Bill of Rights or Constitution as a whole that comes from or even resembles anything in the Bible then please, show it to me, because in all my years of reading our founding documents, I've only ever been struck by how original, rational, modern and fundamentally 18th century they are. The US is a secular nation. Religion has no place in government.

"Western civilisation", if there is such a cohesive thing, is built on Babylonian, Persian, Greek, Roman, and Indian ideas developed many centuries before Jesus existed. Christianity is but one part of what we could possibly call "western civilisation".

The point of a constitutional republic, and the purpose of checks and balances in a democratic system, is to insure that the "tyranny of the majority" is never imposed. That is to say, just because more than 51% of the population believes something does not mean that that view has more importance or should be pandered to than any other view, at least in the governmental sphere.

Though there are many Muslims who hate America, there are also many who like America, and plenty who live in America. There are also many Muslim-majority nations with secular governments - Indonesia, Turkey, Bangladesh - and the citizens in these countries do not think the way you think they think.
