@whuh65 Actually, the clarinet requires less lung power then the oboe, so the oboe is harder. And the violin is pretty damn easy.

It's sounds nasally because of the reed &'nd the camera. Jones Reeds for OBOE sound bad, I didn't say they were bad for Bassoons. Although Singing Dog reeds or Handmade reeds sound better than Jones Reeds for Bassoons ( according to my Bassoon playing friend ). &'nd if the oboe sounds nasally it's because the person needs better reeds and/or embouchure. and I'm not talking about the person who made this video.

@hotman12332 pfft, you obviously have never heard one professionally played ;) and honestly, if it sounded as bad as you claim, would there be so many oboe solos in music? try listening to the instrumental music in a few movies, and listen in for the oboes. There's a bunch of solos for us. >3

The reason the oboe is given so many solos is because it sounds ilke a voice. Every instrument has a voice...and there are plenty of clarinet, flute, and trumpet solos. All of them can produce different moods, but most of the time, people find the oboe more appropriate because of the range it has. Same with the flute..it doesn't mean it's the better instrument.

And secondly, it's an OCD type of a thing. especially when things are misspelled as badly as "instement" instead of "instrument". these things get underlined in red, if you right click on them then you'll get a list of options of what the computer thinks you might mean. Honestly, you're going to need correct spelling for things such as job applications and resumes in future, the sooner you start the better.
