hi..your yoga wear tip for apple shaped is very useful. would be lovely to know if you have any other tips for purchasing clothes for apple shaped folks...like jeans for example..i am apple shaped myself and i have such a hard time finding a right pair of jeans. thanks!! :)
thanks so much for your reply i am very fond of your videos not particularly for your tips or reviews but more for that I find your personal charms are very inspiring. I really love the way you talk, dress, and live such a full life. I have watched all your videos a lot of times, and I also follow your blogs closely. Thanks for sending out such uplifting vibes and look forward to more...
Do you wash your hair after hot yoga? if yes do you blow dry it at the studio? that is the most challenging things for me cos I dont know what to do with my hair after hot yoga...
Hi! lovely video :) I love yoga too haha! I go every week but I'm not really sure what type we do.... definately not bikram, thats for sure! It seems pretty intense haha! But I realllyyyy want to try it because it seems so good. And also, I would love it so much if you could take a look at my channel... I've only recently started youtube, but so far I'm loving it! xoxo, Hayley :)
Martha, I was just thinking it would be fun if the gurus could start a tag talking about if their husbands go shopping with them or not. My husband won't step foot in a mall. I 'm wondering if most husband are like that:)
@Threefurbabies Mine hates shopping. He'll come once in a while but work on his phone while I shop. He's into sports though so I can't blame him. Must be boring.
I just started Bikram yoga.. could you recommend more about on the suitable clothing for hot yoga? especially on the material and cutting. I find it very difficult to find where I am also apple shape and lululemon seems does not fit quite well :/
I also wanted to ask you about your pain management - I was also in an accident in Sept. I was hit by another car. Still dealing with pain. I do chiro and massage 2x per week and now I want to try the Bikram Yoga! I've done other yoga in the past and I'm just now getting to the point where I feel like I could handle that kind of exercise. Is there anything besides Bikram that has helped you with pain management?
@quixoticgirly My physio exercises help but the Bikram gets rid of the pain all together. I don't know why. I have to practice at least 3 times a week though to have this effect. If I stop for a while (like recently when I was in Central America) the pain slowly comes back. It sucks. Let me know if you find something else. <3
@blushingpixie Thanks for the extra info. I found a place in my city that does Bikram during the week. I'm going to try them when the kids' school gets out and things calm down a little. Thank you so much. I hope your pain goes away completely soon. It's no fun.
I love that you did this video. Great tips and very honest! Also - I'm still using the Yes to Carrots shampoo and conditioner and my hair is loving it - thanks for that video too! Love your channel! xoxo - Angela
of all the gurus out there you are one of that i couldnt criticize. Its good to know that even though ure famous u still have time to reply to some of us
@blushingpixie It was amazing! However, I constantly get headaches afterwards that I don't know how to avoid (even with hydrating all day). Does this happen to you?
Great video! Do you have any workout recommendations for people who are apple shapes, who want to tone but are beginners at working out? I'll admit, I never ever exercise! I am trying to tone and lose my tummy and love handles for a trip I am taking in August. I am so far doing cardio (treadmill) 4-5 times a week and ab workouts (scissors etc.) 3.. any other recommendations? Thanks! :D
@2ati3 Honestly, it's about what we eat mostly. I find that affects my tummy/love handles the most. Have you read Eat Clean Diet? It's really good. I think you are doing lots. If you want more, I would add some weights even just a little. :)
@blushingpixie Thanks! I just googled it and it looks really good! I saw quite a few recipes with Tilapia, which I love. I think this is going to be quite beneficial for me as food is my weak spot when it comes to moving towards a more healthy lifestyle, so thanks again! Hope to see more videos from you soon! :)
How do you do your hair for bikram? I'm always finding myself retying my pony tail from the lying down positions to the standing positions. I have long thick hair like u
Hey thanks for taking the time to do this video. It was extremely helpful to me...I have been considering taking a yoga class, and you're right - I had no idea what to do, wear, expect etc. Thanks again.
do you wash your hair every time in your after workout shower? that's something that always troubles me. i hate the feeling of sweaty hair, but when i was it everyday, my hair dries out!
Your hair looks great!:D I had been thinking about trying this and now I'm sold! If I just need to tone overall, mostly back and midsection, would this be a great choice!? Thank you! I hope you have a great weekend!:D I am off to Vegas!!!
I do Bikram four days a week and vinyasa for one day. I love it! Bikram is amazing. I feel so great after class! Thanks for sharing your experience. Really enjoy your videos.
hi Martha, great video! Is the style of your tonic yoga shorts - Gather? I found an online shop that ships within Canada and want to try tonic, bc I'm too, fed up with Lulu.
I love standing bow too! My most dreaded posture has to be camel. Just can't quite get into the pose without getting dizzy. Been doing it since November 2010. Great workout!
thanks so much for posting this video. i've really become inspired to seek out some authentic bikram yoga studios in my area. it sounds like an amazing way to get healthy both for body and mind. thank you.
I have been doing yoga for 6 years and I do really like Bikram style yoga....it does help with my asthma too! and it's great for detox....it's the best workout for me and my bad knee!
Thanks for the video! I used to do bikram yoga on and off until I got into kundalini yoga. I am tempted to add some bikram yoga classes into my routine as well now!!
thanks so much. this was really interesting. i've tried t'ai chi and like it but the idea of hot yoga is very appealing. i don't want to hobble into my senior years :-D thanks again and have a terrific weekend.
