Yo, if you are gonna hate on jaco for reasons like this, there are plenty of other videos on you tube of him later on that are more suitable for something like that. This is in his prime, and in my opinion, one of the BEST videos of him up here. So have some respect. And if you don't like him, don't watch him :)

i'm not sure exactly what you're referring to but the only thing I can think of is that he has a spring reverb in his amp so the spring vibrates and gets picked up.

because a truck gets over speedbumps, that's why. Jaco also had an upright but it couldn't cope with the Florida humidity so it fell to pieces after a few weeks, so he decided to rip the frets out of his Fender, to get a similar sound.

Yeah you are right on that. Lead bass does suck alot of the time, because its not really right is it. Personally i only like Jaco, because unlike the others, he doesnt play when its not appropiate. Sometimes, he does things that dont quite fit..but he knows more of moderation then Marcus and Wooten. I think at least.
