I LOVE Mei Lin. However, on every episoe of every american show I've seen, they always pronounce Chinese words wrong. Oh well, I guess they try their best.

Anyone else notice the sound of Mei Lin crying is exactly the same as Kate's crying? I guess all babies on "Arthur" cry the same way! (except Kate on "Arthur's Baby," her bawling was REALLY irritating in that one)

IIRC, it's because the baby cries are actually public domain stock sounds. I've definitely heard the baby cry in other various media works.
But Arthur is I think where most people have heard it.
