and the idea of a husband working to 'make' his wife fall in love with him after they are married- may be old-fashioned and unheard of in this fast-moving day and age- but I find it incredibly moving. Norton's quiet intensity burns-- marvelous portrayal.

They should release this film again. Nortons cold fury at his wife's betrayal is coupled with her emerging awareness of him as a man and her husband. The tension builds until at last he sweeps her into his arms and we can breath again. Both stars deserve recognition for there work. There were other beautiful and subtle performances, set against the stunning back drop ofChina. I never tire of watching this film. There is something new to discover each time. It should be released again.

Edward Norton is an amazing actor. That guy can be anyone, Fight Club, American History X, this movie, and he is not really handsome in the traditional sense, but he is better than handsome. I am really fond of him. This book sucked though, they made changes for the movie and I am glad they did, which is something I usually can't stand.
