The composition you clearly here at about 6:39 is You'll Know When You Get There from the superb Warner's MWANDISHI.album.(1971).. Buster Williams i'll humbly submit, is, for me, the only major acoustic bassist whose playing on electric sounds as strong, committed and funky as his upright playing. Love how fluidly he switches back to contrebasse at around the 7minute mark...Herbie's manager then, David Rubinson, told me theres mucho unreleased live material w/ this band. I'll look into it..
Does anyone out there have any more video on this exceptionally fine ensemble;Herbie Hancock sextet or Mwandishi band? . . . By far one of the most interesting of the golden age of jazz creativity, early "jazz fusion" - thanks very much for this post.
I agree... though I doubt you would find many who would call this the golden age... except those with wider ears... my whole thing is early 70s to 75 and then probably I jump to late 90s....
I think in decades to come people will look back at 1970s and see it in a new light.. we're starting those steps I think...

This was one of my favorite Hancock bands. I actually got to see this band perform live in 1971. This video brings back some great memories!!!
