  • This might of convinced me to go out and buy one

  • what year was this commercial made? early 70's?

  • @punji73 1976

    January 20, 2012 3:41 pm

  • kids of today need to understand that back then, this was huge. like kinect is now.

  • Damn dirty lie its the most exciting game :l

i actually went out and bought one of those.. i played it for like 89 seconds, and couldn't take any more, i Actually took my Atari, and coleco-shit out side, lit it on fire.. and burned it... :l hell, watching telitubies is more interesting...

  • @boomboomxz and watching it on youtube is even more interesting right?

  • @Funkdogg NOT REALLY :L

  • Realize that when this was new: 8-tracks were still common (and more expensive than records), most vehicles ran on leaded gasoline, the Vietnam war hadn't been over for more than a year or two (tops), and Polaroid cameras were all the rage.

  • really *plays dead rising on wii* wow they were right

  • The exciting game we will ever see on our TV? Wow I cant beleive they said that

  • By Colec-

  • Did everyone make a pong clone or something? I've even seen some by Hanimex (a company best known for photo-slide projectors, of all things!).

  • "the most exciting game you will ever see on your tv set". hahhahahahah. Thats funny in context.

  • This is something else!!!

Made by the same people that 3 years later after this commerical aired, would make the system that claims to the fact that "Your Vision Is Our Vision--ColecoVision"!!!

  • now I want one lol

  • i want to get telstar

  • At the time, no one could be bothered thinking of anything other than pong clones.

  • Holy crap! We were just cleaning out my folk's garage a few weeks ago and I found this console! Haven't hooked it up yet to see if it still works, but just watching this makes me want to!

  • I got Super Pong in 78' which was in COLOR! Whoa!

  • Coleco=Connecticut leather company

  • @Snotnarok Funny, the only Coleco products at my house don't even have leather...

  • @whattheheck1000 Well that's what the name stands for as far as I know, very strange company by the sounds of it.

  • @Snotnarok They started out in 1932 with leather, but expanded into video games in the mid 1970s. I'm sure the leather bit the dust shortly thereafter, if not during the Colecovision's time.

  • @whattheheck1000 I'm sure but its still strange. That's like you walking into your friends house and seeing basken robins TV. Sorta. Kinda.

  • @Snotnarok That would be weird... probably worth some money lol

  • Where can I find this system????

  • Was EVERY game back then a variant of Pong?

  • yup. Pong was the big thing. Video games that weren't like pong failed. Video games like pong were successful. That's because Pong rocks and is the best (besides Plasma Pong, Warlords, and Breakout)

  • Yes becus you got like 3 of a same game but with other name :P.

  • Pretty much, especially when the "Pong on a chip" came out. There were countless cheap pong clones flooding the market.

  • @RKY06 General Instruments AY-3-8500?

    August 19, 2011 1:47 am

  • @UltimaChaos298 Yes every game back then was a variant of pong....and 30 years from now someone will be watching old commercials of games we play and say "is everything a variant of DOOM?!"

  • @tigerkidtre , or is everything a variant of the end of life on earth?

  • @BatNuklier

Your comment gave me a headache and a nosebleed.

Hopefully I can cry myself to sleep tonight.

  • @UltimaChaos298

You know how Video Game Companies tend to rip off what ever the biggest hit of the year is, well it just so happened Pong was the biggest hit in Video Game history upto that point so yeah EVERYONE and their grandmother had to have some variation of Pong and it led to the first Video Game Market Crash in 1977

  • Great for it's time, but the most exciting game EVER on your TV set? I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!!
