  • i did this with a penny from 1969 and it melted quiker than a 2010 penny

  • on the web site it says u need more then 1 lighter to do this

  • What is made of??

  • LOL

  • The company (or at least the domain) appears to be gone now; the email server is dead and the purchase buttons on the site do nothing. Googling for "Butane jet lighter" returns plenty of results, though, for those that are interested.

  • that's so cool!

  • I'm sorry..why was this worth watching?

  • this must be fake if its not i want one!!!

  • its not fake its a butane jt lighter there like 10 bucks

  • prety cool lighter

  • i got one today! its awesome

  • @Mrluisao17 almost any lighter can do it, i have a video of me doing it with a zippo.

  • you should try to spend that!!

  • why in the hell would anyone need a lighter to get that hot?

  • I know this is the worst lighter ever.

  • you must be completely unaware of the rising of the penny zombies. they've spread from d.c. to florida so far, but its very clear they're going to get us all soon enough.

  • lol its like the painting with the melting clock

  • Does anyone have one? What are your thoughts on quality?

  • do these lighters take alot of fuel?

  • its real, it really does turn a silverish sort of color in places

  • i want one it works dad has one

  • guys that beginning when it was melting is fake.

  • not fake, I used to melt these when I was in middle school

  • now try it with a penny made before 1982

  • He had one displayed at the end I think...

  • yea iv noticed that too they like go completly liquid

  • they made of solid copper. not copper and zinc. tried with a regular blow torch.

  • its not solid copper, its 95% copper 5% zinc, now they are 5% copper 95% zinc. We did a whole bunch of experiments on these back in sophomore chemistry.

  • ya ones in 08 and 09 you can cut with scissors

  • @Matarina wats the difference? sorry for asking im not familiar with us currency...

  • @Mrmusicmaster88 pennies before 1982 were made of 95% copper and 5% zinc, but pennies bade after 1982 are made of only .8% copper and 99.2% zinc.

  • @bsumner1596 thank-you very much :)

  • *Watches video* "My god. IMA ROB BANK WIF DIS SHET YO!!!!" XD

  • who comes up with that stuff..."Hey Joe," "huh? "You know what would be fun?" "what" "Lets burn up all our spare change" "duuuh YAAAAAAAAAAY"

  • how long does it last?

  • It's refillable, and it runs on butane.

  • not very long, i just got the same one from ASG pocket torch, and it pretty much was out of fuel by the time i was done melting a penny

  • one minute

  • this is why we are in a freaking recession.

  • lol destruction of US tender is illegal no matter how old it is. I mean if its not incirculation anymore its fine, but hey, who wants to melt a coin worth more than your (broken) NES? xD

  • it's not illegal to destroy currency if you do it in a cool way... duh

  • its not illegal to melt pennies

  • yeppah i was just about to say taht but u beat meh to it but then again when i run outa rolling papers i use a dollar bill.....

  • 3 things here

1 distrustion of us $ is illigal... ALL TYPES

2 thats not melting mere "dis-shapeing"

3 it only lasts 30 seconds MAX with a full 35$ tank...............

  • im pretty sure im not going to spend 30 seconds trying to light my cigarette, thank you very fucking much

  • fucking distrustion

  • yeah, itsn't destruction of us currency, regardless of how old it is, illegal?

  • I am sure you can get this cheaper than $10 bucks. I could get it for $4.

  • its $9.99

  • @myth230 Wow, now i see: thats the reason why you got that spare penny! :D

  • GREAT FOR: Serial arson!!!

  • Neat! Can you mod the pocket torch to have a super-long frame like you can with most lighters?

  • Probably. You might have to play around with it allittle

  • Like Boltrocks says, it is a zinc penny and melting one is really not hard.

  • cool

  • Thanks man, I've been looking on where to find one.

  • retards they use old pennies so its not illegal

  • That doesn't make any sense. It's still tender. You can still use it.

That's like me burning a 20 dollar bill, it's okay it's old so it's not illegal.

  • yeh and since the penny is mostly zinc its no real feat.
