"atheism is a lack of belief it is not a belief"... and then at the end. "the atheist is unique, except for one universal understanding that they do not believe in a deity" Are you sure you are lacking a belief, or rejecting a belief? Rejection of a belief would mean you "know" a reason to reject the belief, hence you believe there is no deity, which is a belief... I feel like you failed to prove your point and instead contradicted yourself, in response to why atheism dosn't conradict itself...
I personally, don't believe there is a god as depicted by scripture of any kind that I have come across. This isn't to say that I "believe there is no deity" to which I remain agnostic. Perhaps there is a god, who knows, but what I am certain of, is that if there is one, he/she/it has nothing to do with the bible.
Atheism Does Contradict It's Self...you guys say that you believe nothing in the bible...yet it is proven that jesus walked this earth and was crucified...and just to say that there is no god makes you ignorant because you do not know for sure no one has any proof that it exists or not...so both atheists and Christians are stupid.
@damaxman 1. There is proof that jesus was real apparently you need to so more research
2. The term atheism originated from the Greek ἄθεος (atheos), meaning "without god"...many atheists say there is no god many times before....so what happened? your a different kind of atheist or what...
3. And i didnt refer this comment towards you rather to the idiots bellow...and i regret not directing it who it was ment for...i understand your video clearly but as i said before not intended for you...
1. Simply claiming "there is proof" does not account for proof, despite how eagerly you may wish it does.
2. A proclaimed atheist does not believe in a god. Other attributes are unique to the individual, such as if they claim "there is no god." One is a label or description of sorts, whereas the second is a claim. Claims require evidence, and IMO you're right to call anyone who claims "there is no god" as fact, an idiot. Likewise with claims of Jesus.
@damaxman so your saying that you do not believe in god?...yet you say you never claim that "there is no god"....how does that work?....thats a contradiction all in itself...to not believe is the same thing....too keep it in your head and not express it still makes you an idiot....so idk try to explain it to me..
There is no contradiction here, these are two separate aspects. To state "there is no god" would be a claim, to which I would need to support said claim with evidence. Whether I believe there actually is one is entirely irrelevant when applied to 'does god exist or not.' It's really quite simple. Kind of astounding that an idiot like myself can comprehend it, yet you cannot.
@damaxman to comprehend...what you [think] is true isn't all that hard know is it?.....so let me make this easy...do you believe in god? do you believe there is a god?...Do you believe there could be a god?...answer these question so that i can better understand what type of atheist you are because the ones i know exactly what atheism is...i may have it wrong... but from what ive herd atheist say they are idiots
If I say "I believe in god" or whether I say "I don't believe in god" does not matter when it comes to gods existence. Either God (as defined) exists or not. If you or ANYONE is to claim that god does exist, they must provide evidence. Do you have any? If you do I'd be more than happy to see it.
As of yet, I've seen no evidence to suggest the existence of a god, thus, I'm an atheist. Additionally, since I accept there 'might' be one, I'm agnostic. Simple enough?

1. Evidence suggests that there was likely no "Jesus" as per the biblical account.
2. Being an atheist does not assert a claim such as "there is no god."
3. Your observational skills need tuning because you clearly missed the entire point of the video.

@damaxman I'm agnostic i believe that no one has proof on either side....

@nirvana2295 So you're an agnostic atheist.

@DaToNyOyO no im just agnostic

@nirvana2295
That makes no sense.
All you're saying is that you don't claim to have absolute knowledge of god.
Gnostic - Agnostic
Theist - Atheist
Gnosticism is about Knowledge.
Theism is about Belief.
So, are you an agnostic theist? Or an agnostic atheist? You can't be just agnostic.
