It is very easy to demonize people even in our own community, for instance pro wind vs anti wind. It is much harder to find and hold onto common ground. I've long thought that a "false" community reinforces one's beliefs to the point of distortion. In a "real" community, we rub against those who do not believe as we do, are open to new ideas and remain civil. Not easy, but necessary.
@wildflower12 compared to most people I wasn't that far back at all, but I did try to put myself in front of one of the big screens. I was maybe 50 yards back from 4th street, and I heard that people were packed in all the way back to 12th or 14th street.
@kardon47 thats alot of people..... would have been a good time for a terorrist attack! thank god for the army being in the middle east! .........(joking)
