It counts as a landing in the log book! LOL Good choice. If you don't feel 100% about the landing - go around! Also always remember that ATC is there to serve you (not the other way around). ATC can ask you to do something but as the PIC you have the final authority to either except or decline their request. I always try and help out ATC but I have said "unable" quite a few times since I got my license.
@miracleeraser LOL! Ok man. Whatever. A pilot can choose to go around even after the wheels touch down. Sure you can mark it as a touch and go in a log book but if that wasn't the plan and you are aborting the full stop landing, it is a go around.
I wouldn't want to know you nor would I ever want to be a passenger in a plane you fly.
@Roudy1331 You don't think I know what can be logged in a logbook, or that you can abort a full stop landing? Thanks for the lesson. This is just a plain old botched landing (not a bad approach warranting a go-around), whether it was supposed to be a full stop or a touch and go. That's not technically a "go around." He saved a potential crash. Go arounds are to prevent a bad landing or avoid some sort of hazard. Thanks for not seeking me out to be my friend or to fly on my airplanes. I'm done
@miracleeraser Funny! I look at your channel and all I see is OTHER people flying airplanes. You're a dick - plain and simple. The pilot in this video decided to go back in the air after realizing that the approach/landing did not provide for a safe outcome. So to quote you earlier; "It's a bad touch and go", is wrong. Sure you can mark it as a touch and go but in I could also mark your "traditional" go around as a low approach with your definition. He prevented a bad landing - Go around!
The best advice, if you don't feel ready for an approach, tell atc you will rather do an orbit or remain clear of final approach. in the 172, dont ever do a full flap approach in windy conditions, use ten maybe twenty and rather sideslip the acc to loose some altitude. Remember you are the PIC, be cocky with atc. If you're not ready, dont do it. Safe flying
I'm a pretty new PPL so I guess its down to inexperiecne, but ATC asked me to expedite the turn to final to make way for a kulula jet. I had to descend 1000ft pretty fast, so I used full flap. The gusting was about 25kt IIRC and it made the approach a bit unstable.
@perinaise i wouldnt have used full flaps i dont think. in gusty winds. I never go past 20 and will slip to loose the altidude and transition to a side slip to hold my ground track if its a cross wind. great choice though. My mottow, if i dont like it, or if it doesnt feel right.... go around.
Okay, first of all. Why full flap landing on fala rnwy o6L? Cessna 172? What License do you have? That's a good question? How strong was the winds gusting? Im almost done now with my commercial pilots license, I did my ppl @ krugersdorp, and finished off my advanced training at rand, skyraiders. Please note, im not being nasty, Just curious.
Nice, I did my ppl at Wits flying school, Lanceria. I loved it!!

Very good call on the GA: a lot of people would have tried to save it, which could easily have gone horribly wrong.

TOUCH AND GO
FlyNaash 1 year ago
I don't believe it was a touch and go. You can go around if you can't make a safe landing. Even after you have touched the runway.

As far as I know this is NOT an Go around Procedure, this is a touch and go...please review..

that's not a go-around! you were alright until you were on the runway...

@miracleeraser Not a go around? You sir are obviously not a pilot.

@Roudy1331 it isn't a go around, it's a bad touch and go - and YOU sir, obviously don't know me.
