  • this is ghetto Google... I can do this very basically with an HDMI cable and a little know how on keyword search. If you want to be innovative move into the mobile market with your tech... think about what I want to watch on my handhelds and the function to get there... what about "wattson" and the prediction technology of IBM? From my understanding the "transition" FROM TV will be because of practicality and function.

  • Can we play Minecraft ? online ?

  • I could see where watching videos on the internet could make this interesting, but the rest seems unnecessary... If you already have a laptop, just look up stuff there. Not worth the money, IMO. It's nothing more than a toy.

  • thumps up if you saw RWJ@2:35 video pop-up saying GAY! GAY! GAY!

  • yay!! a Indian.

    Don't judge me.

    I am not racist.

    but after watching russell peters,

every indian guy makes me laugh,

no matter what he says. :)

  • this looks cool finally i dont have too hook up my laptop to my tv and type on my keyboard

  • 3 questions on capabilities:

    1. Computer memory storage? y/n

    2. Double webpages? y/n

    3. Windows speech recog? y/n

  • The reason why we have HD tv's is because because we don't want regular tv's!

  • Unstabled camerawork ! Is that 'Google TV' unstabled ??

  • Logitech box that connects to your exisisting HD tv or a sonyblue ray player or buy a new sony tv .The blue ray player would probably be the least expensive the logitech box costs 299 dollars at best buy unless your a dish net work customer then you can buy the logitech box for 179 dollars but you have to have a dvr player that costs some money to buy and pay rent each month in order to record programs from google tv.Then a new 32 inch sony tv will cost around 1000 dollars with google tv in it.

  • i cant see myself explaining to my wife how to work that thing

  • can you actually just watch tv on it ? it looks to me like a computer with a big screen...

  • Another computer in the house. Shitty

  • lol. rwj @2:35

  • "it almost looks like normal tv"

  • PRON!

  • save money and use a ps3 for internet. there ya go.

  • I find this upcoming Google TV to be interesting. There are some things that I am not sure about though. Will it come with its own keyboard or do you have to use your computer's keyboard? Will it work with a router so you do not have to have an Ethernet cable? Will it be expensive?

  • Shaking video picture that you're shooting at. Should be steady. Pity.

  • the best of both worlds

  • the Phantom Lapboard will work great with Google TV

  • i find this useless..

  • Man, you have a 58" screen. You don't have to use that zoom.

  • Thumbs up if you saw RayWilliamJohnson in this video.

  • looking good!! :):):)

  • so its like internet on your TV?

    -_-

  • this will be perfect if it has a torrent client and codec support like vlc or mpc-hc

+ can google tv OS be installed on any system instead of getting a google tv box ?

  • the presenter and keyboard operator should have rehearsed their presentation and preloaded some content prior to standing in front of the public like that... they look like kids at a lemonade stand :(

  • It's just computer + TV-Out. How can it work without keyboard and mouse. Fail !

  • Will it work with Uverse

  • Will it have a "Mom" mode? There's not way my mom is going to use a keyboard on the TV.

  • @PenultimateRun No this is for people who want more information on the subject that they are watching.

  • @theshadowfan

It's also about people that look at a T.V. guide and realize that 70% of the programming is commercial ridden garbage.

  • iWant

  • What this needs, is the ability to replace the firmware on Motorola IPTV boxes with this, this could just kill Mediaroom.

  • that's google tv? it is more like connecting your pc to your TV.... no keyboard and mouse FTW!

  • @kailaw I believe there would be a keyboard. You have to type in words.

  • Macbreak Weekly woop. Will this launch in other countries?

  • @drummerkid1993 In order for Google TV to work, they have to sign deals with the broadcasters, TV providers, and hardware companies. I believe it'll take a while to reach other countries.

  • I think there is already a way to hook up your laptop to your TV, if it's the right model. This does look good. I REALLY hope they put a gray bar in it...(sarcasm)

I will never let youtube live that down.

  • this looks awesome I used to doubt google tv but google tv might be googles first original product

  • what event was this where they were showing it off?

  • @rjccviii It was during Comic Con 2010.

  • rwj gay gay gay lol

  • @1800pie Yeah that's got to be embarrassing to Google to have stuff like that pop up when they're showing Google TV to executives or even families.

  • Cool! But it probably won't work with my AT&T U-Verse =(

  • OMG INTERNET PORN ON TV!
