  • your rats are beautiful and amazing :]

  • honestly i had no idea that rats were this awesome, i just thought they were like bigger mice, how ignorant of me. They are more like little dogs!

  • I know you probably get this all the time, but how on earth did you teach them to fetch like that?! I've trained my rats to spin, stand, kiss, come when called and beg, but I don't even know where to start when it comes to teaching them to fetch!

  • adorable! your light colored rattie looks like my girl, maggie. she, and her sister, are stubborn buggers to train!! anywho, your rats are adorable!

  • those tricks are really impressive!! great job, lovely ratties by the way =)

  • god damn gorgeous rats, by the way ;) very clever how they train us to amuse them ;)

  • It's crazy to think that a lot of scientists spend all day killing these creatures

  • @ccslax6 a very good reason to nail so-called "scientists" to stakes & burn the scum

  • What a fantastic video!

I am trying to train my rats at the moment on a little agility stand, but I suppose its time that's limiting me....

Sorry if this has been asked already, how did you go about doing the "fetch" training?

  • I love this ! they are so cute! Are your boys fixed?

  • Wish these things doesn't carry disease, clean and doesn't destroy my property i would keep a nest of them...they looks like hamster >.< cute.

  • @quangluu96 all animals carry diseases (including humans!), but rats are actually some of the best pets you can have for avoiding that because after an initial vet visit, they live in a cage in your home and never go outside. the only diseases they get will be ones YOU give them. they are very clean too and much more loving than hamsters. as long as you keep them in their cage and supervise them when they are out you need not worry about them destroying your possesions. :)

  • @quangluu96 we carry more disease than they. rats are actually quie fastidious. their "filthy" reputation comes from their ability to thive in & cleanup the filth WE HUMANS leave in our wake

  • OOPS! Boys* ^^;;;

  • AWW haha 2:35, the hooded one does a twirl and it looks like she did it when she didn't really have to, or wasn't commanded too. (Idunno! You may have given a command, I cant' tell :P but it looks like she did a mistake.)

  • I really want two little ratties but I can't seem to be able to convince my parents!! I even have all the supplies and costs planned out. How can I get them to say yes?

  • @MusicAnimal98 i don't know. have them watch this video? lol!

  • @significantdavid okay i will! thanks

  • @MusicAnimal98 Mom was the same way, she hates rodents. But then we went to a petstore and I started playing with the rats and got her to play with them too. I got my first rat Melody (the sweetest lil girl you could ever meet), and she totally changed her mind and let me bring her home! just go to a qualified breeder that plays with their rats all the time so they are super friendly. Tell your parents everythign you know about them, if your passion and knowledge doesn't impress, nothing will.

  • @EpithalamionJinx Thanks! Its funny though, they are animal lovers already.. :p thanks though!

  • @MusicAnimal98 kill them in their sleep, you could probably play with the rats for about a week or so, the decomposition will stink up the house and you'll get caught if you stay any longer. take their credit card and leave the country but remember to forge a fake suicide note before you do. make one of them sign the paper first, with an excuse like "can you sign without looking" or something along those lines.

good luck and all the best, pet rats are awesome and totally worth it!

  • @MusicAnimal98 very soon, you'll have your own place. FILL it wit various beasts. cats dogs, (any rodents or lagomorphs you MUST keep caged when not supervised. not for your sake. for theirs. you don't want your rat chewing a cable & frying alive in front of you) never happened to me. but i do know folk whose rats so died.

  • RIP, Patroclus, Clearly you were a wunnerful little furry-companion, you had a great life and gave much joy.

  • coool. why RIP? its dead? :(

  • i never knew rats were capable of doing such tricks.

  • so cool

  • i wonder if my dogs likes yogies

  • could you make an instruction video to how to teach them?

  • damn i want a rat sooo badly

  • Awesome tricks mate, I'm definitely going to teach my rats. Sorry you lost your rat too. I lost my first rat just over a month ago. One of the hardest days of my life.

  • Oh I think you are such a good man, you must treat them so well, they look so happy with you ^^ I really love rats, so cute and smart ^__^ You are really good - I was really suprised to see a rat play fetch :D :) Really nice video :)

  • Any tips on cutting a rat's nails? My gf and I's rat lucky is a real squirmer (Female rat), we've done it before, but it was definitely stressful for lucky.

  • @ThatBrettKid this worked for me: put your rat in your lap and give them a treat, but make them stay in your lap. as soon as they start eating the treat, go for the back nails. they'll sit still to eat the treat and will most likely ignore you. when they run out of a treat, give them another to keep them distracted (best to use a treat that takes them a while to get through). the front paws are harder, but once they are eating you can pry away one paw at a time to get the front nails.

  • @ThatBrettKid i know someone where they got wooden bird perch ladders and wrapped sandpaper around some of the rungs. thay say it dulls the sharp points naturally so it doesnt scratch when you hold them.

  • So cute! It is amazing have intelligent they are! I've been wanting rats for a while now, but my mom is unsure. I think she thinks they are stinky (not true) and all that

  • nice fetching

  • Lovely rats there. I've got two girls myself. They're both hooded. Only trick they know so far is showing up when they hear the treat bag opening.

  • BAWWWW!!! Ratties are such fantastic animals.

  • Guys im thinking of getting a rat, i dont know whether to get a male or female what is the difference? :(

  • @ToyMonst3r Females are energetic while Males are laid back. That's one of the differences

  • How sweet <3 I miss my boys.

  • you're rats are gorgeous! Such shinny coats an they look so healthy! ^_^ very cute too!

  • what do people feed rats as treats cus everytime i seee a youtube vid about fancy rats doing tricks they give em something which they eat quite quick?

i got two rats 2 days ago first time so im inexperienced in this stuff, plus there quite young

  • hey how did you trained your rats to do these tricks, i've learned mine to follow me true the house and to return to there cage when i tell them to, but i have no idea how to let them do those tricks you learned yours

  • I want anuther pet rat so bad. I had one, she was perfect. Sadly like most rats she only lasted about 2 and a half year, and was plauged by tumors until we had to put her so sleep becuase they got so big, and we tryed operating on her once and she pulled all the stitches out so we couldend do it again. Do they sell rat that dont get tumors?? Or rats that have been spayed or nuterd befor you buy them?

  • Awesome, you can see they are loving it as well. Such smart creatures ^^

  • tips?

  • What treats are you giving them?

  • awesome

  • So adorable.

  • Wow! That was amazing.. I totally want pet rats now. :)

  • awesome vid...can't wait to get my rats!

  • my rats are like puppies !!!!!!

  • What were you having the rats fetch?? And also, what do you recommend to give rats as a treat while teaching them tricks? Thanks!

  • hahah nice to see that... my rat does nothing

onley eating, sleeping and sitting on the floor, al little bit lazy

but how do you learn that!

  • It's definitely not hard to get a rat to do something if food is involved. My rat will stand on her hind legs to take a piece of food from me, and she'll also poke her head into the container I store food into (15cm in diameter) and feed herself. She also recognizes the sound of me tapping on the food jars. I once had a guinea pig that would squeak if someone opened the refrigerator (I fed him lettuce twice a day). lol...

  • Rats are the best :) I had two rats that looked just like yours!!

  • You and your rats rock! ;)

  • Wow. That's amazing.

  • Hi David !

What Kind video of your Amazing Pet Rats ! You'd have to work longly & friendly with them to realise this Funny Exercices !?

So Nice : they turn around , they walk on 2 legs like Humans ...it's incredible !

  • Oh, ireally want to teach my rat to do tricks like that. Can you please tell me how to teaching rat for a liitle tricks? I like the video, thank you.

  • What did you use for rewards?

  • awww gray one looks just like my Jinx!! white patch on belly also..hehehe adorable

  • I have 4 female rats and i will take a Babybel cheese and cut it into 4 equal pieces and feed it to them, they love it.

  • omg, they're so beaautiful! good job, fellow rat owner and lover! i love their kisses at the end! :)

  • how did u do it !!!!! :P

i try to teach my rat all these things but he dosent do them tricks even if i show him his treats

  • Wow, very awesome. Can you come train Taffy and Pepper? XD Taffy is an a** though and likes to bite at times -_- and Pepper is just lazy. I'm working at getting them a rat wheel or a flying saucer. I haven't yet cause the fricken things are so expensive x.x and I haven't had much money to spare as of late.

  • Wow - lovely footage showing how smart rats can be. Thank you!

  • how it possible?!

  • I love this vdeo :D

  • OMG howd u train them that well?

  • If you look closely you'll notice they have human-like ears, feet, hands, and if human had tails they'd look similar to a rat's.

  • what is your secret to training rats???

  • Comment removed

  • ¿como has conseguido que te traiga la bola?

  • I loved this so much. I miss my rats so much. Its sad that they don't live long, do you still have these two precious boys?

  • Rats are fantastic pets. It's a shame people have such a negative opinion on them.

  • So sweet, i love rats:))

  • what did u use as a fetch ball

i'm going to be getting 2 new rats from a lady who can no longer keep them

and i would like to know EVERYTHING even how to train them

  • @moodkilla6 i made it by wrapping kite string around a yogie.

  • @moodkilla6 same here

    do tell us sir!

  • Isn't it weird how the cages cost more than the actual pet?

  • How did you teach your rats to fetch?

  • Achilles and Patroclus? Loving the names, and the rats!

  • I had no idea rats were so smart and sweet - all the ones I've seen bit people and were all around bitter creatures. Maybe the owners weren't that great.

  • My daughter had two ... Ash and Oliver.. they are both gone now but they were sooo sweetsie .. good pets .. lil lil tinkie doggies .. very loyal

  • Very nice and cute! But do all rats fetch a ball so easily like a dog?

  • @tzzlite it takes about two weeks to train rats to play fetch.

  • @zimmermanzs But pet rats are caring, intelligent, clean, and loving. They make great companions. You're just rude for posting this comment on a video for rat lovers.

  • @zimmermanzs 0/10

  • @zimmermanzs You're a miserable troll and I hope you get asshole cancer.

  • i keep rats for 2-3 months on average, i let em gain trust, i usually have dumbos or fancey and i teach em tricks like that too its easy, and then i feed em to my snake..one time i have a rat tunnel and threw there little ball in it, little did they no i put my snake down in there lmao, ya screams came outta that tunnel, snake got him, sometimes ill dangle one 6 inchesover the snake while it eats the other rat he came to know over the month or 2 ect ect..make him watch what happend and know

  • @Boro1Legend did you mean tag? i have seen videos of rats playing "tag" with their owners, but i never trained my boys to play tag.

    very inspiring video!

    thank you for sharing!!

  • @Elustrial yogies. you can get them at almost any pet store.

  • @significantdavid what kind of bedding do you use if dont mind answering that to??

  • @significantdavid my pet rats love those!!!

  • SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!

  • my rat loves to lick too :D

  • What did you use for treats?

  • @95Ramz yogies. you can get them at almost any pet store.

  • Hello i have made a social netowrk for rat owners if your intrested there is a video on my channel for mor info :)

  • super cute! can you do a "how to teach your rat fetch and spin" video?

  • Read somewhere that domesticated rats only live 2 years on average. Shame they seem like an ideal pet !

  • @classyandsassy that's about right. they are not with us for very long, but what they lack in longevity they make up for in love. :)

  • I'm not much of a fan of rodents as pets, but these guys look so much fun!

I'd be tempted to get one or two, if I didn't have 6 cats already! :D

  • I don't understand the people who hate these adorable animals. I have 3 friendly hamsters... It's something :D

  • Aww so cute!

  • Wow! That's so amazing. I want a pet rat even more now!

  • hey, do you now what to give them when your teaching them do you give them treats or something??please answer i new to this stuff

  • Excellent video, shows them off really well !

Sorry your boys are no longer with you but looks like they had a great life :)

The wee black one has such a curly tail, I love it.

Anyway, great job and really nicely shot video.

    *waves* to opupo

  • Helemaal te gek Mooooooooooooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • I watch your video multiple times ^_^ It's so sweet how much love you have given them.

  • aww ive got 6 pet rats and i adore them! they make such good companions and they have such quirky little ways about them lol!! its a shame that most people dont like them cos of there tails but im a rat lover for life :)

  • this is so cute...i recently just got 2 pet rats and there not very old so i was jsut wondering if there are any tips you could give me when it comes to training them?

  • @mikesds1 my suggestion is to watch user oPuPo's videos. they are great and that is where i learned how to train.

  • my hamsters are so dumb -_-

  • I Liked Rats =)

  • they fetch better than my dog did....

  • Are these Fancy Rats or Dumbo Rats? Sorry, I never got a close enough look at their ears.

  • @Legobrick3581 they are not dumbo rats. well, they weren't dumbo rats. they have both passed on. RIP little guys.

  • it is clear that they love you so much, they are so cute! giving kisses and well trained too! they look healthy too.

  • I totally love it! So insiring!!!!!!!!!

  • This video is such an inspiration. I have three boys (two are now very old) and will be getting four girlies in January and I am looking forward to teaching them all how to do tricks like this when they arrived. I have managed to teach my youngest boy how to circle but teaching fetch would be a great way to give them extra exercise!

  • I wish the rats that invade my house are the smart, cute and cuddly ones like these, not the filthy stinky thieves who gave me heart attack because of the sudden appearance! =____=

  • Are you single?

  • Beautiful boys!

  • Aw, they are just precious~ <3

  • Really nice video, you've done great teaching them fetch that well too. They look really happy.

Question, from one trainer to another .... do you not find that they'll just randomly spin all the time now you've taught them, just in case there might be a treat around? :P

Thanks for sharing the gorgeous ratties

  • @oPuPo Yes! They spun all the time. I don't know why they picked that trick of all the ones I eventually taught them, but every time I walked by their cage they started whirling like little dervishes. PS- It's an honor to commuicate with you. I learned how to train watching your videos and I point people to your channel when they ask me to make training videos (which I can't because both of my boys have passed and I now live in an apartment that doesn't allow pets).

  • @oPuPo i luv your videos i thought my rat to spin and now every time he is out of hes cage he spins like crazy :P

  • @oPuPo Funny, my Merdli gravitates toward "spin" when she doesn't know what I'm asking of her. I've heard others have the same issues. I'm not sure why they do that. I've taught three of my rats "walk" (the easiest), and "spin", and I've gotten Merdli to "jump" as well (incredibly cute watching a rat just jump on her hind legs!). But every once in a while, Merdli will get frustrated and just spin. By the way, @significantdavid, GREAT job on "fetch"!

  • @oPuPo And by the way, you have some GREAT videos out there, and like @significantdavid below, I'm happy to see your name pop up. Not sure if Whiskey and Womble are still around but I fell in love with those beautiful Roans of yours!

  • This is awesome! Really miss my rats, lost them over the summr. R.I.P Kiwi and Daisy. I'll be posting a few videos of their antics over on my channel, feel free to take a look. n_n

  • Awww they are so cute. I had a pet rat Robert, I miss him sooo much. He came when I called, he lived in a shelf, not in a cage.

  • It's funny because Achilles killed a guy and desecrated his corpse over Patroclus' attempt to make up for his bitching over a girl.

  • 1:02 ATTACK!!!!!!!!!! Attack of the mice lol

  • I love this video, you must be a VERY good owner :)

  • This is adorable . These rat look cute and look intelligent . I didn't know rats could be taught to fetch a ball like a dog .

I used to look after some rats and i can say one thing they don't like doing is having a bath . They hate water. Correct me if i'm wrong?

  • @musique1975 some rats like water, but neither of mine did. :P

  • if i saw those rats i would run and jump out the window i'm terrified of rats or even a mouse all rodents for that matter.

  • awesome! :)

  • what did you put in the ball????? :):):) awsome rats we have 3 and wer training them.

  • @minimicroman227 it's a yogie wrapped in kite string.

  • @significantdavid Whats a yogie? I'm considering getting two rats and wanted to know some good toys for them.

  • @WiseOne1224 A yogie is a yogurt drop in solid form; basically candy for rats. You can buy them at most pet stores. :)

  • Rats are so awesome thumbs up if you love rats!

  • the soundtrack is growing on me.
