Something about the match-up between the frame rates makes it seem fake. Looks good, but not really...real. The perspective of the squid seems to match an underwater view of a squid swimming past a diver's camera, but definitely not a boat camera. It fish-eyes. Note the issues with the footage splicing. The 'camera glitch' that obscures the errors. As the camera retracts back to the boat I get the distinct feeling that all I'm seeing is good after-effects work.

Honestly, scientificly, there is no possible way that this is a giant squid.

Reason One: Giant Squid live at the depths of the ocean.

Reason Two: The only time Giant Squid show themselves near the surface are when they are caught on fishing line.

Reason Three: There is no way a giant squid could survive near the surface for more than an hour, because some invertebrates need the pressure, found in the depths of the ocean in order to survive. There is no saying this wasnt some other kind of squid.

This is so fake, the water was barely disturbed and the water was very dark so you would not have seen the squid that clearly. You can tell it was zoomed in on a tiny piece of water and then blown up.

Not that I'm expecting a trophy, but here's my reasons for believing it's fake. 1. No water movement as it passed VERY close to the surface. 2. They didn't have a bigger reaction when it passed by. 3. They didn't follow the (decidedly) octopus with the camera or their pointing. HOWEVER reasons it is NOT fake. 1. Size. Octopus and squid both grow to MASSIVE size. 2. it's in a lake. Loch ness has not been identified, but scientists HAVE proved that something big is there. Lastly, not on the news.
