  • That is a fantastically sweet setup. I'll bet it sounds magnificent under load.

  • 1.8l doesn't remotely look like that. its the stock samurai 1.3l with the gsxr mikuni carbs

  • is it possible to put a hayabusa motor in a 1987 sammi please someone answer me

  • @lukassfuck15 Yea, totally- the haybusa will almost bolt straight in, just re-weld the motor mounts and ur good to go!

  • Srry everybody but that is the stock 1.8 8v with gsx carbs

  • turbo busa motor anyone?

  • once you got everything installed was it hard to tune? also i was wondering if your mpg got better? and i know it doubled the hp, but did it feel like it? thanks

  • wath type of rubber you put between the carburetor and the manifold im searching for rubber that resist to fuel thank you !!!

  • @mrfrederic666 u talking about a gasket ?

  • @mrfrederic666 Dunno what the gentleman here used but typically large diameter fuel delivery hose preferably copper reinforced to take the weight of the carb is pretty good. What I use when I wan't to put a different carb on a bike.

  • where is the thermstat now? r u running without 1?

  • @sorrythatnameisshit

This was the SG setup with some mods. It used an inline stat from a BMW but it didn't work well. I make a cooling manifold that the stat is on top of the intake now. Go to geckocycles website and Samurai link and poke around there.

  • how long did this take you to do? was it just a bolt on system?

  • is that just the carb(s) of the GSXR or the whole motor?

  • @ECBassGuy867 Carbs on a stock 1.3 Sammy motor

  • @kalzx haha little more than that! My gsxr 750 has around 140 at the crank

  • Nice I bet that motor has at least 35hp in it

  • @kalzx Similar setup produces about 80 HP at the wheels at sea level. This test was done on a spec motor. Stock carb produced 40 hp at eh wheels and then bolt on GSX carbs and it produced almost 80 hp and nearly doubled the torque too. These tests were done at sea level.

  • @geckocycles Show us the results then. ;-)

  • @geckocycles wat????? so its 80hp???

  • @kalzx a hayabusa 1300R engine can put out over 150hp

  • is this a GSXR engine fitted in the sammy? or a kit to sound like a GSXR?

  • That sounds nasty! I've had them on my GTi one time and that was also a good choise then. The car runned verry smooth in low revs, especially with some wild cams. Good job done.

  • what kind of transmission are u running and what size is the gsxr motor

  • Hi, I own a Samurai. But if you install this kit, you still have the low rpm torque? I run 33" tires and a 4.16 geabox with the stock 1.3 8v engine and open exhaust etc.. :)

  • @ch1ld0fbodom Oddly enough I got much better low end too. It doubles the HP and nearly the same on torque. I run bone stock exhaust too so as to help on the low end. Fuel mileage improved as well. I am running 36mm carbs now. These were the 32's with a SG intake which suck

I run 33 10.50 KM2's and have 5.14 T-Case and 4.30 thirds now. 4200 rpm at 60 mph in 5th. Late model trans. I am building another motor now and going to use a 1.6 8v head. I am making another larger manifold for the new head.

  • @geckocycles Woow, nice. And what about the consumption? Or is that fuel milage? Increased or decreased? Can you compare it with a GTI? Damn, love the build, that's what I call tuning! :D

  • @ch1ld0fbodom With the 32mm carbs I got 33 mpg with conservative driving. I now get 24 mpg but am not driving conservative either.

The DOHC GTI will produce more power. This setup on a 1.3 will perform as well as a 1.6 16v that has a cam and headers except off idle, but when I get the R's up I can hold my own with a newly built 16v and that is with this tired motor.

  • @geckocycles Ok, sounds fair and pretty good. Not too much I guess. :)

  • @ch1ld0fbodom go to geckocycles website and look under Samurai GSXR kits

  • doesn't seem like it has a good throttle response at all.

  • where did you buy the carburetor?Thinking of view to get one of those for my samurai ^^

  • @Henkedabonde

I got the carbs on ebay. I make the intake and cooling manifolds. Go to my website at geckocycles for more info.

  • No mod to anything. Just unbolt the intake and bolt the new one on.

  • how does the engine mate to tbe tranny? any mods to do this ?

  • That is so Ingenious, I mean seriouslly, I had one of these samurai's and I love them, and I plan on getting another one, but I never thought to put bike carbs on it. thats just too frickin badass, I love it.

  • can this setup pass emissions on the road? im tired of my stock carb and want to start getting better than 17mpg.

  • @airmanwilliams1

We have a minimal visual inspection. Check engine light, Cat, gas cap test.

These were the numbers. HC GPM 1.22 out of 3.0

CO GPM 14.6 out of 25.0

    CO2 GPM 197.67

NOx GPM 1.32 out of 5

Go to zukikrawlers and search for GSXR Lives

Here is my Sammy home page.

  • its see a burnout?

  • Hello, my volkswagen runs on these baby's and I really like them so I want to get a set of these on my G13A in my suzuki Swift, I had a flange made to fit the cylinderhead, and I'm going to make some runners on this..

The standard manifold has a thermostat integrated, how did you get round this?

  • thats like a brand new engine!! you suck.. get some mud in there!! lol

  • G13A

  • 1.3 ltr with motorcycle carburator not gsx engine

  • what jets are you runing? i have the same set up and it runs like crap...

  • 142 x20 x50

    Stock airs

  • what about consumption? better than stock carburetor?

  • @blorcia would be nice if it didnt suck as much gas but im pretty sure it does.

  • hey friend better good use turbo.. my 1.3 jimny use tc04 turbo power full..^^

  • Nice work, but in offroading you need torque not high rpm power.

  • @szokodi72 did u look up this mod on samurais before u made this comment?

  • @kauaiboy89

I still say: in offroad you need torque. Either diesel engine or big cc petrol engine or petrol+turbo. Nobody works with small engines and high rpm. For slow manouvering on hard track its not a good combination.

  • @szokodi72 ofcourse you need torque, nobody is going 30+mph on the trails unless you have a all out buggie. for what samurais are they have enough torque, this mod pulls more gains in torque and hp. that along with better gearing makes it more than fine on the trails.

  • what do you do with that air compressor on the right side?? for air bag suspension??

  • @azamzzr250 to re inflate tires after airing down probably.

  • 1.3

    go to geckocycles website

  • what size motor

  • idk dude that sure looks like the 1.3

  • got a build thread on doin this

  • hola hermano como estas me gustaria saber como le adapto un motor de 6 a un samurai gracias desde santo domingo republica dominicana

  • are the intake manifolds the stock gsx ones or are the modified?

  • Is this a Suzuki GSX carb?... if so from what type is it...600,750,1000,1100.....?

  • 02 gsx600f katana 32mm

I have the 750's on now from the same year they are 36mm

  • Great!!! Is any difference between stock carb to gsxr (how much power, torque, fuel comsumption, etc...)?? How it work when you go offroading?? Sorry for my english I`m from Poland

  • Independent dyno showed nearly twice the HP increase with just 32mm carbs over stock.

    Will run on it's side.

My 32mm set got 33 mpg and the 36mm set gets 24 mpg but has more torque so I left them on.

  • @geckocycles what other mods do you have on your samurai? kuz if your getting 33 mpg with a lift n tires then thats amazing.

  • you just install the carbs? any other mods??

  • Nothing more to the engine.

  • sounds great~!
