diane benson was running for gov for ALASKA!!! no isreal or anywhere else.... so take your conutries problems to you king or queen or whatever you have!!!
And the administration policy towards Iran is even more disastrous than its Iraq folly. Having been on the receiving end of hate and prejudice all of her life for her Alaska Native ancestry, Diane Benson is acutely conscious of the plight of all mistreated minorities, including the Jewish people. She has been a board member and active participant of the Healing Racism in Anchorage Committee precisely to counteract such odious behavior and sentiments.
She fully supports the right of Israel to exist and to defend itself from the near daily rocket firings. She is VERY concerned with the situation in Iran and is quite disgusted with the Bush administration's handling, or lack of handling, of the Mideast situation. Sometimes it seems like Bush is more interested in fomenting discord between Israel and her neighbors than in trying to truly resolve things, fairly and equitably for all sides.
Whether her opponent is Mormon, Episcopalian or a tree hugger does not have any bearing on the subject. What matters though is whether Mrs. Benson knows how to set the RIGHT priorities. And that obviously is not the case. I can't find any affirmative statement of hers supporting Israel, which in the face of the current situation with Iran I can only view as latent anti-Semitism.
Just because you saw no explicit statement in support of Israel does not mean that Diane Benson does not support Israel or their right to exist. And it most certainly does not imply, in any way, shape or form that there is any anti-Semitism in her or her platform. Anyone even remotely familiar with Diane knows this to be true and Diane has many Jewish supporters because of it. (continued)
The question to be asked is WHY there is no explicit statement in favor of Israel. The fact that there is NONE just makes me wonder. A political candidate should know to set the RIGHT priorities and that most obviously is not the case with Mrs. Benson. Period.
Diane Benson didn't mention Greeks either! Seeing that the US has always sided with the country of Turkey for pure military positioning purposes, Does that mean she's anti-Greek?? This country is GREAT because we can have our own 'views'. But our views shouldn't be restricted and narrow.

Alaska is your priority? Well, I wonder what AIPAC thinks about that ...

The AIPAC is the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. What do they have to do with Alaska, other than the fact that Diane's opponent is Jewish?

Diane Benson didn't mention Greeks either! Seeing that the US has always sided with the country of Turkey for pure military positioning purposes, Does that mean she's anti-Greek?? This country is GREAT because we can have our own 'views'. But our views shouldn't be restricted and narrow.

1. The Greeks are not under attack every day.
2. The Greeks are not the Chosen People.
3. It makes no sense to debate with biased people like you.

She may have been the only candidate born in Alaska. She also has the wrong policies for Alaska.
