  • that's a real car hugger

  • Keep up the great work guys. From the UK. Very impressive. and for the guys who say it wont work, you need to come out of the stone age. THIS IS HUMAN PROGRESS. I think its fantastic

  • what did u just call me ahahahah jk :)

  • Great concept, hope they'll put it into practice.

    :)

What I don't like, though, is that black/yellow frame at 1:19 and 1:28. It's like having a pole in the middle of the road. I wish they could find a way to get rid of that frame.

  • When one of those things breaks down or gets in an accident it's going to make up for all the traffic it relieved. How big a tow truck do you need for that?

  • @malamagr I think that needs a special designed tow truck for that. China now builds 186km for testing, any new problem comes out the engineers will fix and improve it.

  • I can see so many accident happen before people's driving habit change... but with some metal beam guard fence to protect the bus it is possible. they will be a lots of implementation pain though.

  • but the Chinese are bad drivers, inc accident

  • RUSSIA CHINA admire!!!! YOU are very smart and talented!!! YOUR FRIENDS FROM RUSSIA

  • FRANCHEMENT BIEN !

  • According to the TIME Magazine, test runs will begin later this year in Beijing.

  • how cool is that, a train drives over your car!!!!!!!!!!

  • how cool is that, a train drives over your car!!!!!!!!!!

  • Spectacular! São Paulo needs of a similar system of transport (or this system, why not?). Congratulations, China! If it works, Well Done!

  • v=Hv8_W2PA0rQ&feature=related !! english version

  • Being electric, it won't be able to provide air conditioning inside for 1,000 AND move that much weight without draining the batteries. People will cook inside, including the batteries.

  • @RickMartin7 Have you ever taken a ride inside an electric powered train, be it's power source over the roof or a 3rd electrified rail?

  • @PeoplesGeneral from street lamp, there are some contact point to transfer electricity to the train

  • Seriously? What if a truck or other tall vehicle drives into that lane in between those black and yellow arches? What if it rains? Do cars have to turn on their headlights to see when they are under the bus? If I am speeding above the speed limit under the bus, how will anyone know? Why do buses get the right away, shouldn't emergency vehicles get right of way, like fire trucks and ambulances? How can cars see traffic signals from under the bus? This is stupid.

  • I hope there's enough room for lorries to fit under..

  • what if the bus switches lane when there's a car underneath it... o.O

  • @Freddiewgbs That won't be happening, it looks to be more of a tram system here, these buses look like they are on track paths. If u watch the CGI with the bus turning the lights hold the traffic back when these buses take corners, car only go under the bus when it is on a relatively straight part of a road.

It's an interesting concept, not sure how car drivers are going to handle this though? if you've ever been on a motorway and overtaking HGV's, passing them can get pretty hairy at times.

  • For version with English translation see watch?v=Hv8_W2PA0rQ&feature=related

  • dobrze, że zrobili napisy!

it's good that they add subs!

  • as amazing as everyone makes it seem, i see big disaster written all over it.

  • @invalidacess How? If it crashes/Catches fire the doors will automatically supply emergency supplies (Doors flip down into efficient slides) etc.

  • @DIMATIF easy bomb targets.

  • @invalidacess But who'd fuck with china? China can just go bang bang bang...

  • @DIMATIF probably the US, since china is coming up as a world power figure.

  • 想法很好,但不可取,安全性能无法保证。地铁和轻轨还是公交系统的常青树

  • @euchgo 很难说,当时的地铁也是不被看好的,是经过长时间的完善才有今日

  • There is only one problem.

It is Illegal for Chinese to drive you know.

  • @wwefanworld Please don't visit China, stay in your cave

  • @Seres1091 Why would I ever travel to the Communist abomination called China?

  • @wwefanworld

I doubt you even travel at all.

  • @kingmafi6699 Communist china Communist china! Censors internet! Martial law! I feel sorry whoever is in that abomination.

  • @wwefanworld

America slaughters Iraqi's and lies through their media.

I feel sorry for anybody who lives in that abomination.

  • @kingmafi6699 Yes I agree. Even though I am in Poland right now. I agree. But China is way worse put on a scale to the U.S.

  • @wwefanworld

    What do you mean?

America is bankrupt and has nothing.

  • @wwefanworld Cause they will become our soviet masters, comrade!!!!

  • It could be a prominent contribution to the earth from China in so many years.

  • china s best ^^ congrats chinaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • no word but marvelous!

  • ناس بتفكر

  • INTERESANTE LA PROPUESTA CON LA CONGESTION CAOTICA QUE ESTA ABARCANDO LAS GRANDES CIUDADES DEL LOS PASES POR EL INCREMENTO DEL PARQUE AUTOMOTOR

  • in traffic sign i will drive under this bus and pass with it 5:30

  • a small accident could make serious disaster

  • safety first, since with lots car, it has to be slower than their speed.... pretty annoying though for the car drivers...have to be careful not to get too close with the danger zone of the bus.... =0 but cool idea though.

  • I don't think we Chinese get many inventions for the human recently, while this one is really really cool and creative!~

  • This is bullshit. No one in China waits in line to get on a bus, subway, elevator, train.

    This is completely unrealistic *^_^*

  • @nnaenae You don't have to wait in line, the bus has a carrying capacity of over 1200 people. You are BS.

  • @edwardqiu wtf r u talking about? I meant that ppl don't have the patiece to wait in line.

  • @nnaenae You don't have to wait in line. That's the point.

  • where is the huge-huge tow truck?

  • ADA? I dread to imagine an accident under one of these. Sorry, I know the glass is half empty over here.

    ALOHA

  • Actually Beijing is buliding this bus ! About at 2011 ,we can enjoy this fantastic bus !

  • I hope they make this, it'll make less traffic.

  • This is great... hope to see it comes real...

  • its definitely wont happen unless all vehicle are computerize in the future , its very dangerous to all other traffic ,not all driver are pro to drive under it ,especially when at corner that he said the vehicle will turn along with the bus , stuntman in the movie? and the design of the wheel and frame ,can it withstand a brick or some other object that fallen from other vehicle's load ?? and withstand side wind force when encountering taifoon and the bus is taking a turn

  • Good idea but the implementation of social cost and human behaviour changing cost is too high.

  • I would say this would never happen, but I work at NASA(Aeronatical Engineer) and I have discovered many things that seem impossible come to possible. China is one those countries that are out afriad to try new things. Lets make sur to keep our minds open to new possiblilities every day!

  • @merlan114 thank you, finally an american with a positive comment......

  • @merlan114 hmmm u should watch the subtitle one they are building one in in late 2010.

  • @merlan114 Yes comrade. I am looking forward to visting commie China.

  • @merlan114 work at NASA ouaou !!!

  • @merlan114 Really, NASA? 'Cause I'm pretty sure you just misspelled "aeronautical," "sure," "not," and there's some grammar issues that I won't get into. So maybe english is your second language, or maybe you just wrote that in a hurry, but I kinda doubt you're an aeronautical engineer who can't spell your job title.

  • @merlan114

China is one of those countries that builds the quickest b/c it doesn't have to consult people before building.

  • Someone is getting paid good money to crank out ideas which will never happen.

  • great :D

  • instead of a bus, why not an overhead tram, or monorail-like system? All the same advantages without having to worry about accidents. Buses travel in fixed routes anyways.

  • @MarktheSharkSheehan The other issue as mentioned in the video is duration of construction. A 40KM stretch takes 1 year for such bus, but for monorail or light transit will take up to 3 years to complete

  • @MarktheSharkSheehan it is all about the cost. The train is definitely better, but it takes a lot of money to build the rail or tunnel.

  • Amazing and great Design of Century...

  • Comment removed

  • what an invention..

  • amazing~~

  • As for issues with wheelchairs etc, did it really not occur to anyone that all they need to do is make a ramp down at the side of the stairs? So the stairs aren't all just steps, there's a ramp down at the side.

    Seem pretty obvious to me.

  • For everyone who wants a translation (continued):

It has stands at fixed distances to "charge" the train. Look at 4:10 to 4:15 for a visual. At the stations there are also speed-chargers. Also, at junctions where the BRT is turning right, cars can also turn underneath the BRT.

This would only work at places with 4 or more lanes though. The trucks and the high vehicles would have to take the two other lanes.

  • For everyone who wants a translation:

Basically this is a bus and light rail hybrid. It allows cars to pass under. It has sensors at the sides of the underbelly to detect if a car is going too close to the edge, and also sensors to sense if there are vehicles that exceed the height-limit of the lane.

@kopisecewen20 You're from SG? -laughs- I don't think LRT is used at all outside SG. This has one clear benefit over the LRT - you don't need to build tracks for it. Saves money on tracks.

  • what about trucks and other buses?

  • what am i confuse is, how this thing better compared to LRT train?

  • can someone put the translation?

  • nice chinese idea.. not american or british , it's Chinese! god bless a Democratic China in a future and fuckkkkkk off U.s and England !!!

  • but only works if it's more than 2 lanes

  • It was confusing at first, but it's actually a light rail service that's running on the ROAD ! Hope it'll work and be utilised in other cities. Seems very convenient

  • It's actually just a light rail, not a bus.

  • WTF is this gook sayin? is this thing on rails? about time china thought of their own idea instead of stealing and making a cheap copy of some other countrys idea.

  • @colbycous01

Gook? He's Chinese, not Vietnamese here.

  • @sega31098WTH is the difference? thanks for clearin that up for me, i thought they all were gooks. learn somethin new everyday.

  • @colbycous01

A big one. Vietnamese language is not actually related to Chinese.

  • @colbycous01 China invented paper, the magnetic compass, gunpowder, and etc. So you ignorant Americans can stop stealing/using China's ideas/inventions.

  • @edwardqiu they invented spagetti also,, but what have they done in the last thousand years besides copy.

  • @colbycous01 Last thousand years? Well, there are way too many items to even count, so I suggest you DO SOME RESEARCH.

  • One parked/defect Truck and the line is stuck.

One parked/defect car on the sideline and line is stuck.

Any car with something on the top >2m and not paying attention...

Make it 4m under it and it might have a chance.

Where is the elevator or is it not usable if you can't walk stairs?

  • "7. Nested doll" of "T RIZ" .

  • I just can't believe it's a Chinese idea and not a German or American one ...

  • @major7474 What's so unbelievable about it? China's got 100000 more ideas like this, it's just that you don't hear about it.

  • Sure there will be accidents, but probably no more than are already happening with people changing lanes quickly etc... overall seems like a great idea.. much cheaper than a subway or mag lev. Will probably take some guts to go under the first few times!

  • too many moving parts.not good. why not just put in a new elevated mag lev system,up and out of the way.duh!

  • These motherfuckers cant even drive wtf do they need a big ass bus for?

  • This is a Very good idea. All of the negatives....ie handicap access and bad drivers can easily be figured out. Lifts can be made for wheel chairs (which is very important) and the bad drivers will learn how to use this bus to their advantage, some will crash, obviously, but most will learn quickly. This transportation design would favor all of the bicyclists and mopeds in Bejing just by giving them some shade in the summer and wind and rain protection all year long. This is my short opinion. J

  • I agree with everyone this is a bad idea, everyone knows Chinese people are the worst drivers.

  • @nissanaltimaka24de

You've obviously never been to China.

  • @kkklownknight6699 Obvious you dont know about Chinese peoples driving.

  • @nissanaltimaka24de

Chinese people drive fine considering there's no real road rules.

  • @nissanaltimaka24de The joke is that some American comedians say is that the Chinese are bad drivers because their eyes do not open fully. One American comedian says a Chinese person can be blindfolded with dental floss. There are others, but nothing that can be repeated.

  • Comment removed

  • Taking into account how badly Chinese people drive, this is a bad idea. These elevated buses will be getting hit all the time and stranding passenger who cannot exit because there's no ground level exit.

  • @jasonlajoie are u an idiot?

  • @ken007avv I would be if I answered such a dumb question.

    Keep trolling, Troll.

  • 2 Problems: indeed wheelchair unfriendly and not suitable for roads with many intersections.

  • @rix203 all they need to do to make it wheelchair friendly is make sure all the stations have ramps to get up and down...and there is such a thing called traffic lights...think about it...

  • @rix203 Not a problem when the station have ramps

  • Chinese cant drive so those will crash everyday

  • @testify221

This is all you jealous, racist people can come up with? That Chinese people can't drive? LOL. What an ignorant statement.

  • @testify221 lol wat a fag u r

  • its cool but i dont like the idea of putting a bunch of clearance gates in the middle of the road... maybe its just me... oh and if there is a bigger truck cant go through this bus and decided to pass from its left hand side, and the small cars from inside of the bus might decide to come out as soon as possible and it might cause accidents... again, maybe its just me, maybe if people get used to it, it will be ok

  • @zys714 yeah. i was wondering the same thing. what's the point of putting clearance gates on roads?

  • no creo que ayude en nada.. porque igual seria abrir otra linea para solo los buses o una lidea para el tren como aque en long beach...

  • Interesting idea, but from video the stairs will be a big problem.

    No wheelchair.

Difficult for young & elderly or anyone carrying anything substantial (bike? groceries?)

    Will slow down boarding/departing.

  • We need this in London now. Are you watching Boris?

  • wow - great idea!!! - I wonder if it will possible in the future....

  • Oh and... PUT STUFF LIKE THIS IN AMERICA!

  • He just said "blah, blah, bloo, bloo, coco puffs" :D

  • ive got a feeling this is a lecture in design/marketing skills rather than a pitch for the bus its self, because that bus- well surely thats not practical.

  • @danielthomasslade : This is a lecture and introduction of this new design.actually, this kind of bus will be put into practice in a new district t of Beijing later this year.

  • @lanzhe26 i am sorry my friend, i was wrong. it looks amazing, i would like to try it one day.

  • vaya!!!! hay gente que usa la cabeza ;)

  • LMAO the subtitles makes it very clear .

  • cool idea

  • what the fuck did he just say.

  • lol this is mad cool but a dude like me might just try a top speed flyby under this thing.

  • lol this is a series of disasters waiting to happen but knowing of some of the chinese governments absurdly wasteful projects, it would not be surprising to see street fireworks left and right in the next few years. ah, the beauty of central planning.

  • @chainzdown2dadik Safety is a big concern for all forms of transport. You could say the same for trams, underground trains, Maglev trains, planes etc. Accidents will happen, but with safety enforcements this hopefully can be minimized.

  • @voon100 planes that have virtually no traffic routes and trains that fixed to a track are not nearly as impractical as giant buses that have to share roads with countless drivers. plus, how would the solution to traffic congestion be to create excessive safety laws due to the introduction of a new hazard.

  • kool awesome

  • its really dangerous cuz, lots of bad drivers and new drivers in the streets dont have the experience or the capacity to handle this. the idea its nice, but i think it needs to be more reliable in security, cuz the first thing i was thinking was a bad driver.

  • what happens if you need to change lane but u cant because the side wall of the bus is blocking. If you been to china the way they drive that wouldnt work. lanes means nothing to them

  • really amazing.

  • lo que no hagan estos chinos....

  • كلامه صح 100 %

  • Excelente idea!!!!!
