Remember this one from the loadingscreen to the game "target: renegade".. we liked it so much, that we recorded it on cassettes for the stereo cassette player :D
Was gilt die Wette? Denn soviel Mühe konnten sich nur die wahnsinnigen Programierer der alten Computer machen.
Yeah, my favourite of the Ocean Loaders as well. I remember stopping the tape half way through loading Combat School just to listen to it loop. It's amazing how well i can still remember these tunes after 25 years.
damn i used to play a bunch of these games on youtube.. i had like tons of games that my brother game me when i was a kid. I remember i thought it was Arnold, with an alien, but then I was like.. The name is gay. but fun game.
Lol Gryzor, basically Contra/Probotector for tapedeck computers. The loader theme alone was alone worth putting the tape in and risking your sight in the long term. The 80s was much cooler than some may think.
It's amazing how all the 80's instrumental tunes from different composers are so much internally connected to each other. From Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis, to Clark, Hubbard and Galway, all these have common musical basis.
I would go even further, saying the whole 80's pop culture had a global and very distinctive style. I would describe it as confident to the new means of technology, combined with the need for sentimental expression.
@Rheinmetall1974 its called a collective concious lol, all people are connected in a way. carl jung talks about it alot in his books man he is awesome
@Rheinmetall1974 That does make a lot of sense yes. But then again the 80's was a decade of 2 extremes: On one hand some of the most creative, forward thinking and artistically turbulant times but marred with unpreccidented greed and truly dreadful pop music. The 90's I think was much calmer as a result of the 80's being pretty relentless meaning it was a more leisurely time to live but not as breathtaking.
This is incredibly good.:3 Has soul.

Does Chase HQ 2 have this music? I found an NTSC crack of it (I'm in the US), and I want to show my friend it. What other games had this loader?

omg, I remember that tune :D
Same was used on the game Freddy Hardest.
I pressed play on tape, waited till the counter
was up to 41,5 and then this tune started playing.
then I had to wait till the counter went to 121
and the game started...now I could cry ^^

If it wasn't for the music the wait times for c-64 games would've been really.. REALLY long.

contra?

@DaAznThug Yes, Contra. Gryzor was the home-computer name for Contra in Europe, and it was called Probotector on consoles.

Many people still use Commodores for music today, as fully integrated studio composition and synth machines.
I do too. Paste this title into the Youtube bar: COMMODORE 64 "COOTY"
Also Google in CONCEPT-SINGLE NET

Ahhhhhhhhh. The memories. The fantastic Ocean / Imagine loader music. Brilliant upload.
Where can i download this, anyone know?
ineebriate 2 years ago
@ineebriate Two ways spring to mind. Google in FREE FLV DOWNLOADER to install software to rip this video...
Or Google in OCEAN LOADER SID and SIDPLAY for the music file and software to run it through.

Awesome and definitely the best Ocean Loader tune. Shame about Gryzor though, terrible conversion for the C64.
