I've actually played this game, and to the best of my knowledge the barricades were virtually pointless... Maybe I played an earlier version release, but from what I remember the zombies could just push past them with relative ease...

this would have been good,
but zombie games are better off third person.
and using mellee weapons.
FPS was a terrible choice for a zombie game.
