What is wrong with having views in the middle, left, and right? Human beings, forever divided by religion, politics, and all other manner of things that make us different from another group of humans. :(
Hitchens was a great writer, debater and polemicist. Thats about it. Period. If he entered politics, it would have been disastrous and his views are tainted with emotionalism and he took things too personally that his arguments became extremely and spectacularly biased. He is a classic smug. But I respect his talent and literary contribution. RIP.
I love Hitchens, He is one of my heroes... but he was wrong on Ross Perot and wrong on the Iraq war. If this country would of listened to Perot and not the same old left-right paradigm of the day we would of not lost the millions of jobs that we have to NAFTA and GAT. Many more examples are coming to my mind but I really don't care to type right now. Cheers.
@pythor2 It tells you who a fool is and who is most honored upon this world. Like Solomon. Compare King Solomon to Hitchens ones a loser the other is a Patriarch and one of the worlds greatest kings to ever live.
@pythor2 A Patriarch that had all the kings of the world come to him for advice in how to rule a kingdom. Who is hitchens? Some drunk overweight sloppy fat guy with a hate towards God whoaaa totally cool guy fail. When is the last time he has had a women? Solomon had 700 wives. Whos the man now.
....Hitchens is rated in the top 5 journalist of the past two decades...He has also gone number one on booksellers list twice and close three... What have you done sir?
@incredible916 correction one's a BALLER and the other WAS a patriarch who has been dead for so long the only things indicating that he ever existed is the bible, some occult shit and legends about his having invaded africa for gold and diamonds before anyone else did.
@incredible916 you do know that jesus said anyone who calls someone a fool will go to hell right. not that jesus is real or anything, just saying the bible does say that.
-social detritus being anyone not really really good at paying debts fast. there seems to have been much concern over that back then for the common people.
@nerdyharry Not in Biblical writings. It is an actual place where the Israelites would sacrifice their children by fire. However, in the King James version of the Bible, the word Gehenna was translated into the Anglo-Saxon word "Hell". Gehenna originally meant, instead of eternal torture, it was "away from the Light", or away from Yahweh.
@AgowTisro well the isrealites did a pretty bang-up job of ceasing that particular practice before the romans rolled in. you sure we're not talking about the same place, seeing as it actually existed and all? maybe instead of "sacrifice" it was just a place where whores and rape-victims would leave their unwanteds/"social-detritus"
@nerdyharry It's pretty well noted that the KJV translated "Gehenna" to Hell from the Hebrew Bible. You could be right on what it was used for, I just heard most commonly it was used for sacrifice. Either way, it was considered a dark place, believed to be out of Yahweh's light.

@420simpson King James Bible
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good.
incredible916 9 months ago
@420simpson He's referring to "Hell" which is a mis-translation of the Jewish word for "away from God"; "Gehenna"
