  • That guy looks high.

  • The problem is they "had to know how it was done," fifty years ago, but then they didn't have Youtube. They STAYED amazed. Oh, they could have went to the local library, but that was limited in scope. Nowadays, they can pull out their I phone right at your performance, go to the Youtube app, and find out the secret before they leave their seat in the audience!!

    Man, it sucks!

  • Comment removed

  • you would think if he did all that research all that that he would take on the responsiblity of performing the techniques.

    maybe he can't

Knowing the secret and being able to do this is two different things

I feel you bro,I am a professional magician.I need magic to not be a wage slave

one last thing. For hecklers,Buy Gazzo's book "Read between the one liners"

email me I have slamed hundreds of hecklers on the street

  • There's nothing wrong with looking up. Spoiling it is the problem.

  • hecklers are funny if you put them on the spot a lot of them back down.

  • Also, if hecklers are learning our secrets and are exposing our secrets while we are performing, just hand them your deck of cards and say, "Let's see if you can do it any better". They probably won't be able to do it because they know how it's done but they haven't practiced it...you will make them look like a fool in front of everyone.

  • If, after learning a simple self-working card trick (maybe something based on a mathematical principle) it should be up to them to create their own illusions and/or go and buy a book and/or DVD on how to do some more advanced stuff.

  • I think it might be fair to show some BEGINNER card tricks (and I mean TRUE beginners) so that noobies will have a place to start but I don't think we should reveal things like the DL, TT, EC, (if you're a magician reading this you should be able to figure out what those abbreviations are) false cuts and shuffles.

  • i think it's fair to show card flourishes and xcm technique as these are not really magic tricks themselves....they simply can be used to make your card magic more attractive. I am guilty of exposing some tricks on youtube but after hearing what you have to say i see how it is detrimental to our art form.

  • if your so upset that ppl look it up. heres an idea. make up your own tricks!

  • create your own tricks and you don't need to worry about someone exposing your tricks.

  • wow wow , great idea ...

too bad its not that easy

  • @deadmanavir i guess if you read some books that just teach slights then you can use the slights, if no ideas are thrown at you, its not that hard to start imagining. ask people what they wanna see done, and then put it into an effect,

  • to actually create something is easy, very easy, but to create something "new" is not that easy because i'm pretty sure other magicians already created it ...

  • Go on the Learned Pig and get hold of some old public domain magic pdfs.

Adapt the effects you find with your own handling and magical ideas/knowledge. This is what other magicians do and call it "creation".

Then you will have some unique effects of your own that are not all over YT because Ellusionshit just "released" it. Not that it matters a jot if they are on YT or not, it's how you present them that counts, but if worried about so-called exposure of current effects then do the above.

  • yes i noticed that most E effects are "ramakes" and polishhed material. no new ideas , just people remarketing, no immagination, good slight of hand to perform and a good group of people making u rich for resellng

  • yes it is, but if you are limited in effects but have slights, then you are forced to come up with something that might as well be your own handling. its not easy to make something someone never did. but i made a couple of great additions to chicago opener

  • when a heckler exposes u in front of an audience..they have crossed the line. if they know how a trick is done or not is irrelevant. i was doing a card trick in front of family and my sister blurt out, 'oh i know how that's done !!' she wasn't heckling, but after i took her aside and told her it is not cool to shout things out like that. it is not a contest or a puzzle - but if u figure it out, keep it to yourself until an appropriate time after the trick is over.

  • hes asian...hehe

  • So if he doesn't go to You Tube, he can go to a library and look in magic books.

Are you going to close down libraries? No I don't think so. Get a grip on the reality of life please!

  • @CaraBrimleyRules i doubt libraries have decent books, if u find "the paper engine" in any library, tell me

  • Of course libraries have decent books. In any case older effects are the basis of new ones. Most of the new ones are not "created" they are just repackaged.

And as you should know, it's not the effect but how you present it that counts. A good magician can take any effect and make it entertaining and an effect you "must have"

Naturally the magic dealers (who hire good magicians) want to convince you the latest marketed effects are the only "decent" ones. Don't fall into that age old con trap.

  • Is it illegal to expose magic tricks?

  • Nope and it's good fun and helps people learn

  • "Exposure is literally slowing down the entire evolution of the magical art.

I know its a strong statement, but it is actually true. Given the information age that we are in, exposure is no longer one magician lending a book to another or exposing a trick in a phone conversation it is much more than that. Within minutes, a brand new trick can be exposed on a website, in a forum, or sent off to hundreds of people through a single email message."

  • Sir, I have respect for how nice you are, and how reasonable you are towards these kinds of people.

Do tricks that people do not know about. Try looking into some sleight of hand magic that isn't popular. Don't do tricks from ellusionist and penguin that are gimmicks, and their instant download, or street magic tricks.

  • not only those tutorial video and exposing video, also some bad magician try to do magic on their video and pose online, when people watch over and over again they may figure it out how it done, we should tell youtube not allow post those video

  • I've been guilty of that sadly

  • we should think about how to solve this problem

  • How about getting all the internet magicians together? The question is.. how?

  • should better talk to youtube owner or penguinmagic

  • Fuck YouTube they won't do shit, talk to penguin magic and ellusionist.

  • u been try to talk to them?

  • nope

  • Dude, your friend sounds like a dick. I understand people looking up exposure (curiousity and jealousy are human nature), but to have a 'friend' heckle you is just wrong...

  • And now the masked magician has come back, and things have really gone to hell!

  • I haven't minded the things he has exposed.

  • i agree with you 100%

a guty i know looked up a trick on youtube right in front of me after i showed it to them

  • I know. You are absolutely right. I hate when people just look them up on youtube,

  • how u gonna learn if u cant find out how to do it? if someone is trying to figure it out they should ask u to teach them.but trying to spoil is bad.i always look up tutorials. its how u learn

  • I think people reveal magic when they realize that they don't posess the skills to actually perform magic convincingly. They have no talent and/or are too lazy to put in the necessary time and practice it takes to actually be able to perform it right. They decide that they'd rather expose the secrets of magic on YouTube because they know it will get them lots of views. It doesn't matter to them, they can't perform it anyway. To them, the secret is otherwise useless, so they don't care.

  • Yes thats true, but people who reveal magic aren't true magicians. True magicians can make people BELIEVE in magic, and bring back that astonishment we all had as kids.

  • the art of magic is dyeing thats why some magicians are taking the chance and revealing to get it big again you may not like but dont waste 8 mins of peoples time.

  • i agree. half the fun of magic tricks is tying to figure it out.

  • say dat someone posted a trick and diddnt reaveal it...and someone watched it and figured it cause of their peformance...then wat are u called?

  • Either the performance was bad, or the person is good at figuring out magic tricks, either because they are observant, or know our techniques.

  • so if u figured it out on your own then its bad?

  • no, if your a magician its ok. Its the HECKLERS that are trying to figure out our tricks, if they figure it out, than its bad.

  • ohhh ok i get it now...yea cause i figured it out and i am a magician...so i guess it isnt wrong thnx

  • i dont even like tutorials:S

  • stop being a bitch its for the kids.your tricks sucks thats why its ez to figure out. who cares you CANT stop people its america so suck it

  • Um, no you're wrong...

You are getting mad at people for looking up tutorials, yet you make no mention of the people CREATING the tutorials REVEALING the secret.

You do know that without magicians making tutorials, there wouldn't be people looking up their tricks.

  • lol you haven't been doing magic that long have you? Rookies these days. Well once you've gotten some actual experience doing tricks in front of live crowds, hopefully you'll understand. Until then, you don't know what your talking about, and your just being ignorant and stupid.

  • It's just funny how offensive you get when other people aren't in agreement with your opinion about your Mickey Mouse hand gestures.

Looking outside the box is a step towards not looking stupid.

  • Well you can't blame people for looking up "Magic Tutorials", but rather to address the people that CREATE "Magic Tutorials" exposing tricks.

Then again, if no one was making tutorials, there wouldn't be NEW magicians for upcoming generations.

Oh by the way, nice hand gestures...

  • Still, many NON magicians learn and expose tricks by looking up these tutorials, so the NEW magicians will have 10 times as more hecklers.

  • Then the argument is clearly for people who POST or REVEAL magic tricks to the public, NOT those who are interested in how it was done.

If there was a show where everything is revealed at the end, you wouldn't get mad with the audience...

  • No your wrong. HECKLERS are looking up these tutorials. Do you know what a heckler is? If not than you haven't been performing magic for long.

  • Yep no new magicians, huh? Question. How did new magicians learn the art before youtube? Gee how did they do it? They, for the most part, did not learn it from someone. They figure it out for themselves.

  • I agree. I hate Fcuk-in Hecklers. I think they are just scared that they will just loose social status.

  • dude ur weird...u sound like every body loves raymon...and we do so we can fuck with other peoples mind...and do shit...thatst what im do'n...and im do'n it to get money...not the big tricks....noth'n big...i just want to make money...i guess im a heckler...fuck...lol

  • why would people look up magic tricks their retarded if they do

  • sweet and if you give it a bad reply then you suck and your a magic exposer dicks

  • hmmm...i think explanations are really bad, but it is freedom of speech. i think at LEAST people should make tutorial videos private, AT LEAST. if it was up to me i would take them all down. it is gay how people have to pay and some people cant afford it. although you do wonder how magicians learnt their first trick. i mean i admit i learnt mine for free. but still i think the only tutorials should be flourishes...

  • My curiosity of how to do tricks led me to being an amateur magician. And I look up card tricks and tutorials on youtube because I love to learn. However, it didn't ruin the fun for me because I love showing people tricks to see their reactions, and I love to put a smile on people's faces.

BUT: I would NEVER reveal someone else's trick. If I figured out how to do it, I would be happy I learned it and keep it quiet.

  • i agree with u

i usually dont reveal tricks unless they r really old or corny

i do too love watchin ppls reactions and smiles

  • I think the magicians oath should be updated to include guidelines for posting videos on the net.

  • Or something along the lines of that. ^_^

  • Hahhaa yeah at this day and age, I think thats true.

  • Seriously though...do you think that would stop anyone? It won't. A magician doesn't reveal his secrets. Clearly, the people on here revealing secrets are not professional magicians.

  • I haven't taken a magicians oath or anything, I'm pretty much self tought, without the tutorials. And then I see the tutorials, and I think, that's not a fun way to learn. And it certainly isn't fair to people who buy the tricks.

  • i agree with you cuz people annoy me alot like that, how did you do that? how did you do this.its so annoying.

  • how are new magicians supposed to learn magic without thwe internet?

  • There are MANY other ways, DVD's, Tapes, Books, other magicians. Plus the internet is TOO open, anyone can learn it, even hecklers, our worst enemies are learning our tricks and blabbing on how we do them WHILE we are performing them.

Plus a lot of tutorials on YouTube SUCK. They teach wrong and miss a lot of steps.

  • Ight thank hommie, do you know any places that teach magic for free that can make you better?-FOR MAGICIAN ONLY?

  • Aron sry to disturb you but is it ok to look up magic tricks if your a amature AKA NOOB trying to become a pro?

  • Stussy - Yeah thats the thing though, everyone has free access to these videos, including NON-Magicians, and HECKLERS.

  • thanx

this is very true. my friend do this to me to

    it can get very annoying

  • ye.... i agree with majicman92!!! Create a webpg to chat amongs our own magician selves!!! i would happily be a part of that. Plz reply. it would be gr8.lol

  • Hey, could you create like a website, or something, so that you could share to everybody about what you just said in your video. It would be really funny if a heckler came across it. Please reply!

  • Yumland123 - I honestly don't know how to start my own website =(. U got any tips for me on that?

  • UM...IF YOU WERE A REAL MAGICIAN... You would SHUT DOWN the heckler... IF Your a real magician...you should know TONS OF OUTS and TONS of tricks which will fool EVEN THE WORST HECKLER.... I Love Hecklers cuz I SHUT THEM DOWN...let them say "Yeah I know that, its two cards" Im a PRO so I do shit they HAVE NEVER SEEN. AND SHUT THEM UP..TUTORIALS ONLINE SUCK YEA, BUT A REAL PRO DEALS WITH HECKLERS!!!

  • Lmao what if the heckler knew over half your tricks? I don't think you even watched my video, terrible... Hecklers are using youtube to learn magic. I know a heckler who knows cards, loops, thumb tips, props, and the works.

  • Plus I DO SHUT DOWN HECKLERS. Stop condescending and calling yourself a pro. People who are the best at something don't have to go around bloating egotistically that they are the best, they let their playing do the talking for them.

  • Plus anyone has the potential to shut a heckler down. If you worked with other magicians you would know that. You don't have to be a REAL MAGICIAN. Wake up man, stop being in your own little world.

  • omg i know. its so fuckin annoying

  • cool ill wait

  • dude let's create a web so all the real magicians can chat n share information not only tricks it can be decks n other stuff i dont mean to REVEALED tricks just where did they buyem or something please answer!!!

  • I think there might be a web like that. If I can find it I'll pm you the link

  • i just post this into a "heckler"s response log: This kind of stuff is wrong.. you don't see the picture, but your ruining the future of magic! its one thing to make up your own magic trick and release a REVEALED video on you tube, but its extremely wrong to post a revealed video on you tube of someone else's trick. true magicians do not do that... only losers, and lowlives do!

  • Very true my friend.

  • Haha

  • Magicians don't expose tricks, only the ones that suck at magic or laymen that know a couple tricks. You will never find a tutorial with someone doing an even decent performance. Too bad it won't stop...

  • Damn you obviously haven't been on youtube long. You'd be surprised how many magicians expose their tricks on YouTube, and these aint no layman.

  • i dont understand everything cause im german ^^ but what i understood is true they should stop exposing magic. greetings from germany :)

  • Greetings from Hawaii :)

  • What you said are very true. People should just stop exposing magic. This will ruined magic creators and performers. There should be a law on Youtube for this :/

  • Its the same thing as having a kid copy what you say, until you recite the entire bible by memory...and watch the kids face as he feels dumbfounded after he realizes he will never be able to follow the path you just created. Ultimately we will win the fight. Live well. Peace.

    Infinitely,

    Chris Brown

  • Wow Chris that is a deep analogy you just used. Thanks for the comments and tips. -Aron

  • I've found that the more its talked about, the more we help spread it. The best thing to do from here on in, is completely ignore it. Also, if you want people to stop calling you out, create something nobody has created. That should inspire you to create more self created effects.

  • thank you so much. I was gonna wait till I found my camera to post a video on this subject, but you request I don't, I will copy this video and post it on my channel

  • I can't see my comment on here? Where did it go.

  • The youtube comments are still f*cked up (comments disappear). Its been two weeks and youtube hasn't fixed ityet.

  • Ah ok. Youtube should do something.

  • Look up Christopher Mast's Videos on the new youtube comment system and how its broken, his rants are pretty funny.

  • IndeedofYes your right... hmn but i dont look up tricks... i look up xcm like cuts and flourishes

  • Yes. I totally agree with you.

  • Thanks for sharing. You're so right!

    -hyo

  • ya stop revealing tricks.

  • Great work man. I subscribed to you because of this video :)

  • Thanks :)

  • Your welcome. Great videos too.

  • dude u should be a motivational speaker. u made me feel so guiilty i am taking off every single tutorial vid i ever made

  • Nice to see it being brought to light, good video!

    Jordan

  • Yes I felt like I had to bring up the topic. Time to wake up! :-)

  • i hear you man my best friend when he sees a trick he has to look it up on here i told him you don't do magic don't look them up and he tells me he just has to know

  • I hear you man. It's one thing to want to know how to do these tricks, but it's entirely different once you go to a gig that a magician has and start heckling him about it in front of everyone. Pathetic.

Hey what part of Hawaii are you at dude? I was stationed at Kaneohe Bay for a few years on Oahu when I was in the Marine Corps. Hawaii was awesome :)

  • Cool. I live on Oahu, the same island where Kaneohe Bay was. However, I live on the mountain area, which is the opposite side of Kaneohe :P

Yup Hawaii is awesome :). Where are you from?

  • Illinois haha Pretty plain area, but it's not too bad.

  • I always think of the Simpsons when I hear that state. haha.

  • You are right. stop revealing tricks.

  • whats wrong with his hands and feet?

  • Nice, 5 stars. own8ge
