I tried it thousand times without the time pressure to get it right and I always died when I tried the jump on the wall. I tried it like three hours, and I still died, died, died. Then I thought: Fuck it! And tried it in real, with time pressure. I needed three more tries, and then did it. It's so freaking hard! So many mean ledges she has to grap quickly... So tricky!
I am stuck on 1:17 because when I do exactly as the video does, I keep on missing the ledge on the other side and keep getting her killed. It's the bloody wall run that's pissing me off as I am getting nowhere. I have been stuck on it for hours so I'm on the verge of giving up such a great game unless someone tells me how I should do a successful wall run. She is not high enough to reach the ledge.
Don't hit the key which extracts the grapple immediately, so that the grapple will extend a bit longer. Admittedly, it's a hard place and you may want to try it without the time pressure at first. :)
I have a Playstation 2 and I'm not playing it in time trial. When you say the key that extracts the grapple, that must be the X button on my Playstation 2 but when I reach the other side of the wall, what must I press to make Lara leap at the same height of the ledge? I don't know how to make the string on the grapple reach the same level as the ledge. I keep missing it as she is killed falling all the way down to the ground.

It's a hard place and you should make sure that she goes high enough, i.e. not extracting the grapple right after jumping, so that she falls down a little longer and the grapple line is longer, meaning that she has a greater radius.
I appreciate the effort, but at 1:35 you can clearly see that the pole has sunk back into the wall. I understand that you cut parts together, but it would be nice to see a completely successful run at this.
I was still using the trial mode of Fraps, which would only allow 30 seconds of recording at one time. If you have any creative solution for the situation I was in at that time, please let me know.
On a lighter note, I'd do re-do it for you now, since I can, but I'm on vacations. :) If you allow me the time to fly back over the Atlantic, install TRA, play up to Egypt and then record it, I'll gladly do it. (This is not ironic.)

Otherwise... Do you have a slow computer? I've experienced that Lara wouldn't grab on the ledge in City of Vilcabamba either and it was on a slow computer.

I got psp and i watched 1aracroft guide. I've watched a lot of his vid, he is sure is a pro.
From his vid he jump starting from the right edge, followed it and got it on 1 try
