  • Argh can someone help me. There are Silat classes in cardiff, near where i live. and i really want to learn it and study it for self defense after watching many of these videos. But can someone tell me, what it actually is? I've tried to find out, but it seems its a mixture of martial arts

  • @motley0crue12 silat: generic-term for malayan martial arts of the malayans. the MA located in southern thailand,southern vietnam, malaysia(and singapore), brunei darussalam, the philipines, and indonesia. the footage you are seeing now is one of many styles of silat (it is bruneian style).

  • Cool stuff, reminds me of how Wing Chung flows. Knives are nasty too, (this coming from someone who trains with a sword everyday).

  • Yep, I agree. That must be some sort of stupid historical fact from History Channel. I know that sentence. It's quoted from History Channel - Human Weapon (Silat). I don't know how those "historian" wrote that documentary.

  • This is good I have seen to many students try and just mass slash each other everyone can do that. But being smart with your weapon is the best. You have amazing Skills I wish I could be half as good as you in my art of Serrada Escrima.
