@fntime I believe every plot point you mentioned in your comment is also mentioned in the review. Soviet Union-America have war, post nuclear war conditions in Florida and how the people survive in the aftermath of the war
@TheWarlordofAZ Heard of it but haven't had the chance to read it yet. From what I have heard it does have a similar plot. Of course ton of books, movies, tv shows that play around with the idea of a area being cut off from a society. It is just a great plot device. One of my fav tv show in recent years, Jericho, played off the same idea. Hopefully I will get a chance to read One Second After sometime soon
@TheWarlordofAZ Nope haven't watched The Colony. The idea of it being staged realty show style didn't really appeal to me. You can't duplicate the feeling/idea that the area is completely cut off from the world when the people in it know it is a tv show. So never felt the urge to give the show a try
Great review! :) I've read the book before, and although I thought the whole situation after nuclear attack was perhaps a bit unrealistic, it's still an amazing book! I also watched your farm tour video and loved it. It reminds me of the farms I've seen while I was traveling across Tennessee. I love the southern states, so peaceful and relaxing :)
did I hear a cow or am I going crazy? How epic is that?! Love the background. Wish I was growing on a farm instead of this damn city -___- But the book sounds interesting. I'm pretty sure I've heard about it though. Keep up the reviews =D
@OcMiske Yep you did hear a cow in the background. If you watch the farm tour video that I linked you will get to see lots of cows. Glad you liked the review
Kyle you need to learn how to tell a story.
The story is about a nuclear war between US-Russia and the
survival of people in post nuclear war Florida. How they survive
and the problems they face in a time without government &
police and when the inferstruture breaks down.

@WeReadBooks Sorry, if my comment sounded nasty. I thought
your review was a little long winded, but thanks for the video,
it brought back memories from the past.

@TubularNoobular Did you know that there was a TV show, Alas Babylon.
in 1960. I read the book then, actually read it again 10 years ago.
Good survivalist manual.

It sounds like One Second After by William Forstchen. Have you heard of it?

@yhctower Ya I would recommend it. Speaking of tv shows I know it is a little staged but have you or do you watch The Colony on Discovery?
