Thank you for the work you are doing...but on a side note when I worked at a kennel we did not keep collars on the dogs in the run because one died when it got caught on the fencing.
For those disgusted by how thin she is... she is merely boderline underweight... getting this thin is common for normal dogs in loving environments after a stressful birth. Research other neglect cases to see just how thin rescue dogs can get :(
She is one beautiful dog thats for sure, she is going to make someone so happy. And she is so grateful for the attention and love you give her. I would like to see her kept in a natural light environment though. I honestly dont like your set up.
@gigglewhippet Thank you for the input. We did not just look at her and say "she is starving". There is a series of tests that need to be done before determining a dogs level of emaciation that we determined by things like temperature, ketone levels and several other factors (too many to mention in this response) What this video is showing is the proper steps to take to avoid Re-feeding syndrome after many hours of testing that scientifically proved that she was, in fact, starving.
@gigglewhippet A side note: All the light in the shelter during the day is solely from natural light take a look at part 1 This video (part 2) was taken at night.
@codieraji I looked at the other vid, I think you guys being in America might make all the difference...I am in australia and our rescue has a distinctly different set up. Perhaps we have more space. But we also deal with hardcore cases. People don't have a true understanding of what really goes on, and they cant until they spend three hours slowly clipping the faeces matted hair from the skeletal frame of a listless dog as it moans pitifully in pain. I only want to educate people.
It is hard to tell what kind of cartoons are playing in some people's heads. I try not to concern myself with it; that would be a job for a DR. Phil. I try to focus solely on the dogs needs.
We had a Great Pyrenees puppy for sale in our pet shop, she always looked as though she was smiling which is a common trait in this breed. They are very happy dogs
omg she's sooo thin...Thnx for rescuing her...i wonder how many are still dumped in the puppy mills, Thats making me sad but its good this kind of video makes me fell great.
good job thnx has she found a home yet. You didn't meantion where the dog lives. i am from Canada.
I am so happy for the dog...they certainly need a good care....coming out from the puppy mill, read prison.....and omg she's soooo thin...thnx guys. GREAT WORK~
Good video..thank you and bless you people for helping...she is so loveable and just wants to be loved. Good people we need more people like you in the world...God bless you and God will.
I think the plastic on the collar breaks so that a dog won't accidently hang itself. the plastic breaks if the collar is getting pulled to hard. A safety issue...
I am so enjoying watching tenderhearts progress. She has the sweetest face I have ever seen. She has such gentle eyes, and it really looks like you guys know what you are doing with her. (maybe you should keep her.)
I can't explain the joy rushing through me right now. My neighbor rescued a Puppy Mill Great Pyrenees and she was so shy but had the best personality otherwise. There needs to be more people like you in the world! :)

Make sure the dog has enough fresh water, everyone seems so worried about the food.

That is a great point! We use only filtered water for the dogs, it make a world of difference
