It's very sad and beautiful at the end, Will and Elizebeth finally getting to be together, but knowing that it'll be 10 years before can touch or look upon the other again...

and if you wait until the very last credit rolls you'll see Elizabeth waiting at the shore with their son 10 years later watching for Will to come back...
