ALSO! Why would you take away our rights to privacy? What they are trying to do is prevent such acts at which happened on 911, there are MANY ways to secure these situations to prevent this from happening in the future. Again, Taking away our rights does NOT solve the problem.
You might as well serve us our rights with a side of Communism, Fascism, Dictatorship, etc.
I think this is dumb. So because one person who called someone in Afghan during 911, and they did not gather the information during that call, they must assume that everyone in America is a terrorist? It wouldn't have mattered if they had gathered that information or not, The plane went into a building and went boom, Taking away our rights to privacy and such which is given to us through our amendments and the Constitution doesn't solve the problem of Terrorism.
It's enormously important to expose these telecom companies to "crushing litigation" for having "helped" the US government in a "time of need". Christ! What would Jefferson say? [Probably something different from what Stalin would say.]
Are we SURE we want to protect our corporate masters?
911 is the boogey man cited as a reason to further erode our liberties. but it was NOT a failure of intelligence collecting that allowed 911. the hijackers had been identified and were on terrorist watch lists. the problem was stovepiping and poor law enforcement execution (dot connecting). collecting more intelligence, casting a wider and wider net, will not help that problem.
I love how at the end he spells out what is wrong with their way of thinking and that douche interjects and says...9/11 had someone that would have been caught if we were doing this.....
Ya well no-one would ever go missing if we GPS chipped everyone at birth... not a good reason to do it though.
It's funny how george orwells predictions are slowly coming together here. The government has always spied on americans now they are just going to do it on a larger scale. fear is a powerful weapon and it can be used over an over again as seen here. God Bless America words of Wren A. Chambers

Exactly, government bureaucracy and just plain stupidity at the highest levels caused 911.
Yet many of those same people continually use 911 not as a failure but as an excuse to exact even more stupidity on the american people...

That 'peice of paper' as you call it, is going to keep us from being enslaved to those in power who are closest to us.

I am filled with an uncharitable rage every time I hear "9/11" invoked as an excuse to reduce my freedom, and the freedom of the people that I love.
