Tom Waits has a beautiful voice. your both entitled to your opinion, but being "good" is relative. I (being another typical highly self proclaimed "very experienced musician") happen to think Tom has a very soulful and poetic voice. similar to that of Louie Armstrong or Muddy Waters in some cases. you can not paint whats "good" with a black and white brush. remember one mans trash is another

i got the new album recently (Cause my dad works in radio and it was sent to his office)... the big sleep is incredible! for anyone who wants to know, the album is really good, almost as good as fur and gold! you should honestly buy it as soon as it comes out.
