the other day ago the fire alarm at a hard cafe i was at went off, scared the crap out of me and the waiter, nothing happened, just some kid pulled it. There is a rare John Lennon TV in that place, if the fire was real I would have saved that thing! xD

I don't like the way those motor type horns sound. In the background I could hear high pitched horns. If hotels had two stage fire alarms, they building wouldn't be evacuated and the fire department won't waste their time every single time a device is triggered..

I stayed at this hotel back in June 2006...the interesting thing was we got in at like 10pm and our room wasn't ready...so my brother and I were told to enjoy drinks on them at the bar...but the bar was busy and the Illinois & Missouri funeral directors association convention was taking place at that hotel...

at the Renassince hotel in dallas, the 12th floor sprinkler broke on the glass roof right above the lobby, and the lobby got flooded while we were ending church

When we were in holiday inn in London the sprinklers we were on our way to Florida so my dad set his alarm to 5 am on beep so at 5 am it went off i was groaning as i opened my eyes they started watering then i yelled FIRE FIRE! an then it was the alarm oops! we had a great holiday in Florida we left for holiday inn on the 16th July 09 the alarm went off at 5:00 am we left at 6:30 am for our taxi

i remember this..i was in the TN District and we were in that hotel. I was so mad. the ppl in my room and I were the very last ppl to get out bc we didnt here the alarm. i was getting in the shower and my two friends were asleep til a firemen came in our room and made us get out.

it started at 1am til 4am remember? kinda of funny though bc it was 2 ppl pillow fighting and one of them hit the sprinkler..how gay huh?

No kidding. LOL@ those people who wait for the elevator!! Elevators do NOT work when a fire alarm sounds. The elevators default to the main floor and disable themselves by the alarm system for safety reasons. :P

Provided that they are tied into the alarm system my HS was retrofitted to make it ADA compliant and the elevators and current fire alarm system were added. I was on the elevator when the fire drill started once and it was going up to the top floor and it continued and let me off where I was originally intending to go only to be forced to evacuate down the stairs afteward of course

That's a big hotel. When I went to St. Louis, we stayed at the Drury Inn by the Union Station Mall. That was a very nice hotel. I'm just amazed that that was indoors!

With modern life safety codes you're not at much risk unless you're on the fire floor, and 99% of fires would be contained by sprinklers. I bet the guy set the sprinkler off by hanging clothes on it.
