The church, as an institution, tried to squelch the situation, and moved the priests to other parishes, where they became repeat offenders. The Catholic Church has certainly faced much scrutiny over recent years for OLD allegations (some unfortunately true, many not). It will be a good day when the media starts paying attention to a problem that is exponentially greater: CURRENT sexual abuse by public school teachers, coaches and scout leaders. There are FAR more offenders per capita in these categories than in the Catholic circle. It's time to obliterate this society-wide sin and crime as the Catholic Church has bravely addressed!

I was looking for a seminary to join a few years ago but had a hard time finding a good one because of all the disobedience with Rome and the Homosexuality. Ignorant people should go out and get informed.
I have a feeling that you don't know America very well. There are large orthodox Catholic communities all over, and we have great orthodox seminaries throughout. Chicago, New York, Boston, Milwaukee, all great diocese that are teach the Authority of the Church.
America is a very large place to generalize like you are doing. The Church is Europe is in much more danger than the Church in America orthodox wise.
