Look on Alesanas Shawn Milke , he has a good voice live , But by the end of the tour , his voice cracks a lot and high notes are difficult for him onstage at times. @lovelikewine here is why your teachers/soldiers/cops comparison doesn't work. you have two elements: a teacher unsuccessful at producing a desired learning outcome for a student, and some relatively light imagery of riot police and war. in order for your comparison to make sense, the video's complaint about war/law enforcement would have to be something like, "it's unacceptable (or undesirable) that the soldiers are unable to batter the enemy into submission." clearly not the video's message

i also like the new placebo songs. but i think the new records of linkin park since minits to midnight aren't nu metal anymore. they still have nice melodys but i miss the guitars. compared to linkin park placebo really changed in a good way. but because i don't like linkin park anymore i understand people who don't like the new placebo songs.

Reading a lot of the commentaries and opinions here about whether or not Placebo has changed in sound and style of lyrics is a bit premature if you ask me. They have released ONE song that has a political edge (aside from Soulmates where they damn the government), and who knows what the next song might be like. It's a bit like hearing "Spite&Malice" for the first time thinking "crap, now they've started rapping"!!

@lonasugar I've bought my BFTS-CD on the release-date. So thats bad for me too. They're like every other band too. They want money from their fans. It is hard to realize that the members of Placebo are also only humans. C'est la vie.
I generally love any song that Placebo puts out, but I'm not really keen on the whole political 'war=bad/humans are bastards' theme. War and people suck, I agree, but its been said before-- and been said /better/ at that.
I wouldn't say the lyrics are on par with something your average highschool band would have come up with, but still not their best.

le changement est normal puisque Placebo nous font vibrer depuis 14 ans....le groupe a pris de la maturité.....comme ses fans de leur début ! nous n'avons plus 15 mais 30 ans aujourd'hui et ça me plait assez de "vieillir" avec eux.......merci pour tout ça.

I was'nt a big fan of placebo, i liked their last album, but i didn't love it. The songs where to 'simple', they where written to play them in big stadiums, for massive crowds, they just kind of followed the mainstream.
But now it seems like they chose a new way, not the easy way, not a way in which they would please their fans. A better way, with intefering chords, experimental sounds and strange guitar licks! Yes, the lyrics are naive, but listen to the music!

i also like the new placebo songs. but i think the new records of linkin park since minits to midnight aren't nu metal anymore. they still have nice melodys but i miss the guitars. compared to linkin park placebo really changed in a good way. but because i don't like linkin park anymore i understand people who don't like the new placebo songs.

Reading a lot of the commentaries and opinions here about whether or not Placebo has changed in sound and style of lyrics is a bit premature if you ask me. They have released ONE song that has a political edge (aside from Soulmates where they damn the government), and who knows what the next song might be like. It's a bit like hearing "Spite&Malice" for the first time thinking "crap, now they've started rapping"!!

I generally love any song that Placebo puts out, but I'm not really keen on the whole political 'war=bad/humans are bastards' theme. War and people suck, I agree, but its been said before-- and been said /better/ at that.
I wouldn't say the lyrics are on par with something your average highschool band would have come up with, but still not their best.

pas la meilleure de placebo très loin de là mais la musique reste quand même très bonne, vraiment dans l'esprit de ce que fait le groupe (purée, la basse ! <3), les paroles sont en revanche bien trop clean, trop lisses. certes bran molko n'a pas une voix qui permet de pousser des gueulantes musicales mais il aurait pu faire l'effort d'être un minimum caustique et méchant comme il est capable de l'être par ailleurs. sur une musique pareille y'avait vraiment de quoi nous faire un truc bien acide..

I was'nt a big fan of placebo, i liked their last album, but i didn't love it. The songs where to 'simple', they where written to play them in big stadiums, for massive crowds, they just kind of followed the mainstream.
But now it seems like they chose a new way, not the easy way, not a way in which they would please their fans. A better way, with intefering chords, experimental sounds and strange guitar licks! Yes, the lyrics are naive, but listen to the music!

Much too simple. im listening Placebo from the beginning and lyrics in this song sounds like its written by naive highschool band. Repetitive part annoying as well as music. Dissapointing. I'm not to keen on the first few listens but if any band has gone through change and done it well it has to be Placebo.
Compare the self-titled album to 'Sleeping With Ghosts' and you have two completley different sounds but two fantastic albums.
As I say not a fan of the song, but you can't win them all.
