What rifles are the enemy using/ a 308 caliber? if so does that give them an advantage or is our 223 ok?

the ak is a 7.62...essentially a 308, yes. both the 5.56 and 7.62 rounds have advantages. I personally would say the 7.62 would be the round you would want in a fire fight but ask 10 people and youll get 10 different answers

Simple fact is, there is someone always willing to supress another with weapons. I know that stryker can withstand almost anything like mines, rpg's and heavy fire. how about those IED's?

Depends on the IED. My platoon was hit by a 3000 pound IED on Rt Tampa and we towed it back to the FOB and had it on the road the next day. I lost my stryker to a charge that blew the back off. It just depends on the explosives man. Awesome vehicle though. I miss it.
