@johnkerry7 In the next film, Prime fought Megatron in the abandoned warehouse and the forest; he was dominating the fight, and Megatron had to call upon Starrscream and Grindor for assistance. Prime killed Grindor, gave Starscream a severe beating, and landed some more nice shots on Megatron. He would have ended up killing all three of them if he had not stopped for a split second to check on Sam.

We waited for nearly two hours and waded through all of the tween romantic subplot bullshit to see Optimus Prime and Megatron have an epic slugfest. Once the fight really gets going, we hardly get to see anything--the film cuts to the military's defeat of Blackout. And then, to add insult to injury (or, better yet, injury to insult), the military and Sam end up playing a large role in defeating Megatron.

@FlameClanLeader Optimus Prime should, after a long, one-on-one struggle, always defeat Megatron single-handedly. That's the way it was back in the old days and it worked time and again. At least, Michael Bay redeemed himself somewhat in the two sequels, especially with the forest battle in ROTF.

first transformers movie: optimus did'nt hav much fighting experience, cause he was all peaceful and stuff, and he did kno how to fight, but wat PlatinumDoubleU says is also true, megatron was violent and cruel, tortured many good robots, but sam kills megatron, and it ends, transformers ROFT, optimus learns more fighting skills while megatron is dead 4 several years, so wen megatron came back, he was still powerful, but optimus got more upgrades, more weapons, and got TWO swords!! It was Cullen's first time voicing Prime in like 20 years. He was probably a little off and needed to adjust to having aged that long. After the first film he became the offical voice of Optimus Prime again (outside of TF animated) and had more than enough practice to get back into the groove.
