  • Aahhhh, Leadbelly. One of the best!!

  • i love the sound effects lol! I love your pics! It's fun to hear about your stories and your passions and nice to see the interest runs in the family. Good music at the end too! Take care, love you Grandpa!

  • Pleasant vibrations between the legs. Well that probably explains why many fine girls like motor cycles :)

  • You remind me alot of my husband. His love of motorbikes and off road racing etc. Wonderful recollections, its so nice to see such happiness. Take Care Grandpa.

  • Wonderful. Great to hear of how your love of motorcycles started. Thank you for sharing x.

  • Great story peter!

  • hello you tubers. gets me everytime. YOUR SIMPLY AMAZING. KEEP THESE COMING.

  • @ Geriatric1927. If you are a widower, why is there no wedding ring on your left hand? Surely you don't remove that after being widowed. Eh?

  • maybe he used to be and awesome superhero and it got shot by a laser and it burnt

  • " I was going to say that to have such throbbing vibrating thing between your legs "

Too much information mate. Young kids watching this video, as you well know.

  • too much information? Sex doesn't traumatise children - voilence fear and hurt does.

  • You must have had really rich parents to have been Motorcycling in the Austerity of post war Britain. Bravo!

  • wow u look so cool!

  • Dear Sir, as a fellow motorcyclist it was great to listen to your recollections of your biking experiences, especially your first ever ride on that BSA. Biking seemed so much more involved back then that it is now with modern bikes. I was nodding in agreement when you were talking about the membership and brotherhood of biking. It's good to hear you still ride! Take care.

  • I love you!!! You are so interesting and I really enjoy your blogs. Good luck with the zimmerband and the documentary. Its nice to hear that good things actually do happen for nice people.

  • You are fabulous =]

  • loved it Thank you

  • saw you on the who recording...brillant idea ..am pestering my Dad to get onto Youtube...but he's so 'ACADEMIC' that he can't get a handle of how it works....Tell me what you think is a clever person...I have rows with my husband and he says I'm stupid or so and so is stupid, yet he is useless at some things himself...although great at remembering peoms, stories, historic dates, language,etc..

  • thank you! Your a great video maker!

  • your videos are the only videos i realy sit through and like. you are the most interesting person on youtube. did you get in any accidents on your bike?

  • wow I was touched, you have so much passion, I wish I Knew how to create that in my own life

  • What great picutes, is that you in them?

  • Thanks to Geriatric, I was pleasently reminded of my own, much later, motorcycle adventures in Germany beginning in 1960. Thank you for that, enjoyed your story immensely!

  • I love your videos and your stories and I would love to hear you talk about World war II, and how it was to be in England during that dreaded war. I would also like to ask you if you believe in the Paranormal and Reincarnation also?

  • Happy easter :) cool video

  • Cool vid, my grandad used to ride trials bikes. :)

did have some pics somewhere, but i where they are sadly.

  • It would be good (at least for us motorcyclists and lovers of old bikes) if you could say some more about what bikes you have had over the years and what you thought of them. I recommend rideyourride; An American blogger, for people interested in motorbikes.

  • Your the best!

  • THATS a hell of a good bike

  • Dear geriatric1927, I love watching your videos, I always watch them before bed, its like a bedtime story, you are the best.

  • One of those stories you love hearing because it exemplifies the feeling anyone who's been passionate about something has had.

Everyone has their story, thanks for sharing yours.

  • very cool.

    thanks.

  • Yeah Knitting

  • Our souls never change, the skin becomes old. I am 57 and don't act or feel much different than maybe 23 years old.

  • you rock man!!!

  • people need to upload more clips like this. I prefer funnier stuff myself, check out dolphinhump. lostfrog . com , I laughed so hard I got kicked out of class! haha.

  • Watched&learned something. I think because the video leaves space for your brain to work. Dunno Abe, Simpsons deprived. Boring to me?

  • That motorcycle story reminded me of the time my mother

was out and the car was left all alone in the driveway.

I drove it up and down several times. Had the car not

    started I don't think I'd be driving a taxi today. It's

all about your passion, I agree. I should be starting

my racing career soon. Is 42 too old to start?

  • nice vid :)

  • i love listening to your videos, they're humble and inspiring. thank you for reaching out to people all over the world. :)

  • lol I still thinks its kool that i saw u on VH1! lol But im going to check out some more of your videos to see wat your all about or wateva! lol

  • Dear geriatric1927, I watched all your videos this week after you told me you were a famous youtuber! I don't know how to describe how happy it made me feel to see you appear on this screen. I hope we meet again soon, and keep youtubing, it's fantastic, V. the French girl from "My Generation" day!

  • welcome back Peter ,another enjoyable video.

  • I rode on a bike for the first time last week and it was AWESOME.

  • Yes Peter...you did say it...Ha..We know what you meant. Love LeadBelly....

  • Happened the same way to me. But I was about 20. Friend out of town, found his little Honda 400cc bike in the garage. Coudn't resit temptation and got on it.First time I ever rode a motorcycle. Rode it all over b4 I got caught by the police. Cop was nice though, let me off the hook. Been addicted to bikes ever since!

  • hello peter. keep up the good work! what do you think of our first attempt?

  • Very awesome person. Go on ;-)

  • Cool Video. I love my motorcycle

  • Nice to see you again! You look tired, hope you are well. Love to hear your stories, Thank you for sharing.

  • Yeah, I enjoyed it very much. I liked the old pics too...

    Very cool!

  • Tell us how you used to cause mischief.

  • Peter nice to hear from you again. Is that you on the bike in the intro? Did your wife enjoy the same passion you had with bikes?

  • Hi Peter: I remember my first motorcycle experiences too. Dad left his bike (a DKW 350cc) at home when he went on a trip and I rode it. What fun. Our bikes were 2 cycle jobs though; yours must have been 4 cycle? At age 70 I took up flying and I am hooked.

    Keep them coming Peter

  • Bernie, I'm impressed! What a rush to fly!

  • Your video's are really worth watching, Bernie, and after watching your video's, I fully understand your being hooked to flying.

My dream is to fly a Spitfire, one day....

  • awsome

  • I liked seeing the old pictures. I enjoy hearing about your life, you're very interesting.

  • Peter, you are a cool 80-year-old dude.

  • Thanks man, great song!

  • When i was a teenager everyone rode crossers,nowadays it's all scooters.Boring!

  • Loved your trials pics. One of them looked like you were carrying a 'Scottish 6 days' number and the another looked like it was a national. Did you ever ride our local national, the Bemrose in the Peak District?

  • Very very nice, I reallly enjoyed that one!

  • At last. Love it. Looks like trials to me, not motocross

  • are those pics you? its a very cool life you had on the motocross circuits...nice bikes too

  • noob

  • FANTASTIC!!

    cheers

    kisses from

    Eastern Europe

  • Peter, I have had to interrupt listeni9ng to you to say that I heve experienced exactl the same thrill of starting an ancient bike. You descriptiion of the event summed it up completely. Ok I'm going to listen to the restr now.

  • anyone who says this is boring is clearly not listninig keep it up i enjoy the vids a lot

  • Judging from the poor quality of you YouTube-Id and your evident inabillity to judge a video like this in an honest way, you must be in urgent need of professional help.

  • Speak for yourself, everyone else loves him.

  • Hi Peter...It seems I am the only one who was happy that you gave us a bit of a break between videos. It allowed me to catch up with all your previous ones !

Now I have seen them all :)

And here you came back with another interesting & well done blog. Thank you for sharing, Peter!

  • I wish everyone who did video blogs was as old as you, and had so much they have lived that they could talk abaout..

  • Lovely video!

I can definitely relate to your stories; and I agree, riders do stick together and help each other out. I've had many experiences of this.

I rode in a run of 15 000 bikes once, which was simply amazing - we owned the road that day, all cars stopped to let us pass, and cops turning a blind eye as we broke speed limits!

  • I loved the picture of the motorcycle. I'm suprised you didnt post a video about them earlier! I can tell how much you like them! Where are the tattoos!? Just Kidding!

  • Some of my fondest memories of trips aeound Northern Michigan on my bike. I don't ride anymore, haven't for years. Mores the pity.

  • I am intrigued with your voice. It is so charasmatic and calm. Years back I suffered a debillitating mental depression and would listen to David Attenborough narate nature programs. You remind me very much of his quiet and compassionate voice. God Bless You!

  • Wonderful Video! Thank you again!

  • Great video... Great Leadbelly tune... Thank you.

  • Thank you sir for sharing. I rode for a while in my youth too.

  • So unnecessary.

  • So is your comment.

  • ...and yours respectively, I was reacting to how I felt about something I'd read, your comment is an inane reatort. Why would you want to defend the above anyway?.

  • So were you commenting on peter's video directly or to another person's comment? YouTube's layout makes it difficult to know a lot of the time.

If your comment wasn't a direct response to the posted Vblog, then ignore mine and accept my apology. What is the 'above' you are referring to? A previous comment or the video?

  • I was initially responding to the person criticising Peter (who's videos I adore). "The above" was a reference to the comment I was responding to. I think we misunderstood each other and I apologise for any confusion. I agree the comments layout needs some alteration :)

(Oh and I spelt retort wrong too how wonderful!).

  • Tht time always seems to fly by when I watch your videos. It's always a pleasure.

I love Leadbelly and this is probably my favourite song of his.

  • Thank you for sharing your thoughts and stories. I thoroughly enjoy them... I too have been riding Motorcycles since I was 12. Some of my nicest memories have been while riding. I wish you well my friend.

  • ah, nice to see you again! Always a pleasure.

I wonder...I suppose not many women rode motercycles back then, did they? Unless it was for the War, perhaps. Did your wife ever ride a motorcycle?

I'm afraid my poor sense of balance keeps me off even non-motorized two-wheeled bikes, but you make it sound like a lot of fun.

Take care and come back soon. :-)

  • What a treat. Thank you.

  • It seems I was wrong, because you just put up 14 minutes, and the amazing atheist got 29 minutes up. I got that information from another youtuber, so sorry if I was mislead.

  • Charming video Peter. Thanks!

  • So, you were a joyrider then? lol. Glad that motorcycles brought you so much happiness Peter. Good on you.

  • that was a very nice story

i was wondering geriatric1927 if you would subscribe to my page i would appreciate it thanks

  • Your experiences in life are truely...amazing. The struggle that people had to go through in World War 2, many of today's youth do not know that. They are just spoiled by their video games and their rubbish rap nowadays...they don't know what kind of struggle happened in the past. Peace man.

  • another cracker from you ;) I might have been the opposite of you as my first go on a bike seemed to have stopped my passion for them :D but I found passion in other things

  • Hello Peter, I wondered what you thought of Eric Clapton's music. Thanks, Pat in Colorado

  • I am 21 and I love your stories.

    Please keep them coming.

  • So good to see you again Peter! I've missed you--and who is that young ruffian at the beginning riding that Satan's whelp from hell! I'll bet he turned a bad way and was the bane of morality and the darling of all the "adventuresome" womenfolk!! AND RIGHTFULLY SO! [:-)

  • Peter you are one of so few sain people on youtube, thank you for sharing your story

  • I'm a new subscriber and I must tell you, that you are a treasure here on youtube. And an inspiration.

  • excellent photos at the beginning

  • Peter I really love this story especially the part about when you were 11 and driving the bike up and down the lane. Good to see a video from you again! Take care.

  • lol...I just loving hearing funny, endearing stories :) That was lovely. Thank you :)

  • Thanks for another fun video Peter.

  • myloveispure is Australian and goes to private school. Guess that is why he is so arrogant. Although Aussies usually are not arrogant.

  • Another great video. Excellent stuff.

  • I just love your videos. Keep 'em coming.

  • You were certainly a handsome young man, I envy you!

  • excellent video 5/5 once again

  • Thanks again for a wonderful movie..

  • Your an amazing and charming man. I could listen to you tell stories of your life all day. Nice to see you are back my dear sweet friend.

    Hugs and blessings

    Teena aka Whisper

  • A English/British/UK person and no accent? A god? Maybe! :P [Hey one time can you say the most common briitish phrase used in britian in a vide? "Ye Mate, would ye like a cuppa tea and ah crumpet?"

  • It doesn't sound like you've ever been to the UK!

  • he's from the UK :)

  • There are various accents in England, Zeecron - just like in the US! Peter's I think is kind of South Coast Dorset, rather than metropolitan.

  • More of an east coast Norwich kind of thing I fancy. Keep up the good work Peter and enjoy yourself. Best wishes, Robert

  • England and Britain as a whole is home to about 100 or 200 VERY different accents. Same goes for most countries, however I can't really tell the differences between US accents apart from the obvious new york, jew jersey, deep south and californian ones.

  • You know everyone always says you're a good storyteller, which you are, but you also have good editing skills. Keep them coming, Please

  • FYI Peter, I believe the term you were looking for to describe the musical pattern being played on the guitar is 'Walking Bass(line)'.

  • i can't wait to see your videos when you're geriatric1927's age. "I remember this one day when I trolled YouTube like a noob..."

  • Oh Peter what a sense of humour you have, i love that laugh of yours!

Another insightful and wonderful video, thank you very much.

  • have you seen yourself in the "hottest guy contest"

  • you're a great guy

  • Good to see you back peter, awesome story.

  • Glad to see another episode :) Love it love it love it. :D :D :D

    Thank you peter.

  • Neat looking bikes scary though wear a helmut:)

  • Once again..the KING of YouTube is back! Good job Peter, have seen quite a few features with you on BBC. Nice.

  • Does anyone know the name of the last song?

  • Great tales Peter. Good to hear from you again.

  • Throbbing, vibrating thing between your legs....hahaha Nice BSA!! Thanks for your latest video Peter...another very interesting chapter of your life.

  • Good to see you again! You have a way of making the simplest memories so lovely.

  • Blessed once again by your memories... keep on keepin on Peter - we all cherish the smile that your videos inevitably bring to our lips... I doubt very much that you would run the risk of finding a lack of enthusiastic voyeurs to share your experiences with no matter how trivial the incident may appear to you. To mussing and ramblings cheers!

  • Great photos, cutting a dash yet again you devil!.

  • Peter, I can totaly relate to this video. Great one!
