Roger used to keep tens of thousands of vinyl records in his place and in storage, but had to get rid of them for space reasons and when the technology improved, he adapted and incorporated it into this skillset.

Great stuff. Quite an illogical channel set up though. I'd have the two RH decks on the two RH channels.

Great how he keeps the tracks together at 3minutes when they look close to starting to fall apart.

I've watched a load of these videos know and have learnt a fair. They all use the bass eq to kill the bass on the incoming tracks and then swap over at some point in the blend. I used to mix without any eq. This must allow a bit more leeway for the beat matching.

I wish DJs would use beat grids and make more exciting mixes, manual beat matching is only something DJs want. Even the mighty sanchez isn't 100% tight. It frees your mind when you aren't beatmatching to please the crowd to do quick mixes, blends etc. I know pioneer are now using beat grids and taking all their cues in development from software. Still a top mix and i'm surprised he doesn't do that many tricks, laidback luke does some amazing things!

hey guys what do you think about using the S4 kontroller instead of the CDjs for DJing? I mean, since most DJs have switched to USB and SDCARDS you might as well save the money and buy a controller instead of cdjs. What's your opinion?

@assais i own an S4 and it doesnt run usb or sd cards. runs off your computer. and spinning on cdjs is a whole lot more rewarding vs using a controller and a laptop. wait until they come out with controllers that dont need to run with a computer.
