Just one thing is NOT True and will Never be Posibel at AIR cooling that u have only 50-51C at Load, i think u never used CoreTemp, a CPU "inside" the CPU gets again 10C* more then outside, i had my Q6600 3 years long at 3,6Ghz @ WaterCooled, i know what im talking about, but your 50-51C at Load is "sorry" BULLSHIT on AIR :P

INSIDE a CPU just when u start the PC u get in first 2-4 seconds 40C, so again for all, get the tool CoreTemp and be carefull at your OC´s :P

@UltraNSC I use coretemp as 2 of my 4 cores on my q9400 idle at 22c on air so yeah its possible for 50's under load. I'm using a zalman 9500 and antec 1200 btw. This is with my cpu at 3.2 though.

a xigmatek darknight would be a good choise with a good push pull.low price. if u wanna put more money you could go with a coolermaster v8 i have this with my q6600 and its awsome. if you wanna get rlyyyy cooled try the coolermaster v10 it cost like 120$ but it cooled the cpu gpu and ram. hes rly beautiful too. i think these are u better choice goodluck and have fun!:)

Only the i7 series has Hyper Threading, therefore displaying 8 virtual threads.

your close but no cigar a Q6600 has 4cores and 2pipelines = not a true quad and Core i7 has 4 cores and 4 pipelines. Hyper Threading, is virtually dividing the 4cores into 2, see it as a dividing one core into 2 smaller ones (virtually) and OS will read it as another core and last, Pentium 4,was the first to have the Hyper Threading and was not used on CORE2 cpu's

I have my Q6600@ 3.2Ghz wiht x8 multiplier and 1600FSB the voltages I have is 1.4v for FSB1.35v for Vcore and the MCP ref clock to 200Mhz

I have my Q6600 at 3.0ghz 1.26 voltage using the zalman 9500 cpu fan.

my temps are at 28-32C idle and 50-54C load using speedfan to measure the temps.

cores run t 40-52C on idle and over 60C on load using core temp to measure the temps. Im gonna try raising it to 3.2ghz then try 3.4ghz :).

You can rais your frequency as much as you probably want because you will only get bluescreen because either way the chip cant handle so high frequency or it wont get enough power. the only thing that can fuck up your computer and cpu is raising the voltage too much. overclocking to 3,0 ghz is no problems what so ever. hope i helped good luck ^^

and your temps will be probably 50-55 load and around 30-35 idle i think.

@ IIabros: Man, I have a Q6600 @ stock speed and the same cooler you have and my core temps are: 34-35-33-33 and CPU temp: 29 on IDLE

Full Load: 42 to 44 on the cores and 34 to 36 on the CPU.

I got all of this temps using SpeedFan 4.34 and Core Tem 0.99.1.

I think you should check the temperature you're getting.

Nah, but when is tested the temps the cpu didn't run at 100% and i've set it to 3,6Ghz now ^^ And im using Speedfan. So the temps are a bit wrong actually but when i played games it was at about 60C maybe. the voltage was at like 1.5v So it wasn't overvolted. When i ran that on 3,6 and 3,7 my computer couldn't even boots. It's really wired, i would say my cpu is a bit uniq haha ^^

But in this test i run the CPU at 3,8ghz so it's not like faked or anything ^^
