  • What are those smaller red hoses?

  • I am glad you asked. Those are Chrome Wire Loomz from Streetglow. They were put on over my old black looms and some random cables and etc... I am so pissed that Streetglow decided to stop selling them, they were the coolest car accessory for only a few bucks. If they still existed, I'd have them on every single inch of wire loom in my Scion. Probably chrome, instead of red chrome though, cause the Scion is black. Anyways, thanks for asking!!!

  • would this setup work with a throttle body spacer that i have installed already?

  • I'm sorry, but I highly doubt it. The intake plenum was very, very close to touching the hood...

  • @PowerSports420 Thank you for that information before i decided to buy it. really appreciate it

  • my brake bootser is in the way of the I.A.T sensor....How do I fix this?

  • o.O I have no idea how that happened... Sorrry!!!

  • Whats better a RAM Intake system or K&N Cold Air Intake System for performance?

  • It depends on your setup. For most naturally-aspirated vehicles, a short-ram is way better. However, if you have forced induction, you want a cold air. I should have put a short-ram on that Chevy, like I did on my Scion (video on my channel somewhere), and the short-ram is waaaaaay better for engines with no turbo, supercharger or blower.

  • hey, i bought the same intake and i lost the screw extensions that screw onto engine for the new penulum to fit.

Is there any way to replace these. i cant find a solution other then buying a whole new kit only for the screws, which needless to say. i dont want to.

  • Dude... that sucks!!! Um... well... if you try to go to a local hardware specialty store, you might be able to find bolts that will work... But they have to be exact same length and thread count... Ummm... did you try calling Spectre? If you ask nicely, which I have found to work best in most cases, sometimes they'll send the parts to you for almost nothing.

  • You have the jensen head unit right? Does it have an angle adjustment feature. I haven't put mine in yet, and i'm just trying to figure out how to get it to work the best it can. Did it hit the vents hard for a dvd head unit?

  • Yeah, its got an angle adjustment. But it still tapped the vents every time... :/

Nah, it wasn't a hard hit. It was a light tap, at most, but annoying as hell, lol.

  • Where did you get the adapter for your dvd head unit, is the dash in your chevy blazer the same as in the 99 s10. I have the exact same head unit as you, and i was just wondering if you have any issues with the screen getting in the way of the vents or if it hits against them at all. So if you could hit me up about that. Thanks

  • The screen hit the vents EVERY time... lol... Theres really no solution to it... I would look into the issue more, but I had to sell my Blazer over a year ago... :'(

  • I have a 1998 S10 4.3 and i bought this same intake from summit racing for 115.00. It helped ALOT!

  • @PowerSports420 you should check out my channel im gonna do a update date on it soon with a better camera subscribe :)

  • no way i have to same radio and in the same truck with the same air intake woah

  • Nice!!! You Know What They Say, Great Minds Think Alike.

  • rob zombie saw them live in leeds england

  • What's up with all the sirens, do you live in Liberty City?

  • You have the same truck, same dvd player and cold air as me. NICE!!

  • now how much did this run you?

  • I wish I could remember... I just bought a K&N intake for my tC for $244. But I think this was cheaper... Check autozone's website...

  • @camarolover1982 through summit they are $105 as of today 8/12/11

  • would you say that this intake would be just as good as a K&N or AEM Bruteforce for the 4.3?

  • The K&N, yes... But I don't know what a Bruteforce is, never seen one.

  • And by the way... What kind of exhaust did you install and where did you get it?

  • I had a Flowmaster Super 44. Internet.

  • nice vid man, i have the same exact truck and i want to buy this intake. However, i was looking through some of your comments and noticed that you said you had a custom exhaust on the truck. In all honesty, in the video does that intake truly sound that good or did the exhaust have something to do with that?

  • If you have a subwoofer and a decent speaker system, it isn't too hard to seperate the exhaust from the intake sounds. My laptop can't do it, but the computer I made the video on can. The intake has a distinct noise that no exhaust could make. Also, I had the front windows open, and the rear ones closed, and the camera's mic was pointed forward. Believe me, it made the engine sound better, and made the exhaust sound better, but I don't have any video of the exhaust before the intake...

  • @PowerSports420 i installed it bro... i dig it ... it defiantly makes a difference

  • I love your video. But were did u get ur intake from and hoe much did u pay that's a huge filter btw.

  • Autozone - don't remember the price...

  • All of those hose clamps look mighty dangerous you should but some Clamp-aid covers on them ( just my completely unbiased opinion, LOL)

  • I can't blame you, I have cut myself on many of those!

  • I can't find the p/n 9900 installation guide on youtube

  • I don't know what that is...???

  • @PowerSports420 that is my air intake for my sierra i installed last week.

  • It kinda sounds like an import at redline, thats just me IMO...

    Great install.

  • ??? What? Really? You should turn your bass up a little... Its too bad I don't have it still, cause it sounded great in person. If anything, that sound you heard may have been the Cat, I didn't remove it so the vehicle would still be legal...

  • @PowerSports420 I watched your video again and the engine sounds like a 350z/g35 but lighter...

still nice truck though..if you still have it? :P

  • I wish, its just the 4.3L vortec. But its a TRUE vortec, not the crappy new ones. I had to sell it :'(

  • i love that song lol

  • Thanks!

  • I just ordered this EXACT intake! lookin to get a video cd player like that next what kind is that and are you happy with it?

  • It was an Audiovox Jensen VM9311TS

It was "last year's model", and was good for the price. I would reccomend getting a Pioneer at the least, maybe even a Kenwood if you really want quality.

  • is that a stock exhaust?

  • No, but I kept the windows rolled up to keep it from overpowering the sound of the intake...

  • what kind of mpg do you get on a stock s-10 zr2?

  • I don't know, I had a normal S-10...

Try looking it up on Chevy's website... They are supposed to keep records of all that...

  • @PowerSports420 thanks, a dumd question I know. Your vid was very good though.

  • Nah, it was a great question! Knowing your MPG changes is very important! I keep track of mine every time I fill up!

  • I installed one on my 03 Sonoma and it is sweet, but i have one problem when i get on it hard from a stop it spits and sputers. if i bring it up a little easier it fine, do you have the same problem? any ideas?

  • Uuuuuummmmmm... Well, it seems like you aren't getting enough fuel with all the air thats coming in... ??? IDK, do you know any local mechanics that might look at it for free (or at least not that much)... Sorry I don't know more...

  • haha rooob zombie @2:18

  • LOL, I can't confirm that... ;)

  • where do you get a chip for the sonoma or blazer's?

  • Hypertech makes a programmer...

  • how much more horsepower does this give you?

  • I'm not sure, I think it was 10-20hp. But, you have to combine it with a good exhaust and the tuning chip for those results...

  • looks more like 3 inch to me

  • LOL, no. I measured it, I am not a stupid consumer. You would have to see it in person, it was massive!!!

  • ahhh im about to buy this intake. great freaken video. faved!

  • Thanks! I hope you have a really smooth install!!!

  • whats on the screen?

  • I believe it was "Demon Speeding"...

  • where do you download your music videos cause i have the dual indash dvd like that but it wont play the burned music videos from itunes and i burned then on a dvd so could you help me so i dont have to play them from my ipod and go check out my truck its a 98 envoy

  • Private Message Sent

  • I just cut my airbox hole larger haha... its not nearly as good but its free haha

  • LOL, yeah, but not cold... It is a good way to do it if you need to save money

  • You need a heat shield to keep the cold air cold! Also. only submit your comment once, it has to have my approval to show up. Plus, this stupid new layout is killing me!!!

  • haha i have the same thing on my 2003 chevy s10 extreme but its a five speed they really do sound like a mucle car when you put those on them

  • I know, right? ITS AWESOME!!!

  • @PowerSports420 damn right son!! lol

  • Hells Yeah!!!

  • Very nice blazer! i went with the super 44's dual outlet with mine and my radio wont let me watch video's while i drive, it makes me turn the parking brake on first

  • Thats awesome! I couldn't because mine is a 4x4...

Also, I used a switch to mimick the parking brake, LOL.

  • they don't make them for my s10 4.3 because it is 1991.

  • K&N might have one...

  • what would happen if just install the cone filter to a stock breather hose?? is that ok..

  • The key element to the intake is the smoother hose and plenum... It would work, and you might get a very small boost, but you also need to install a heat shield...

  • Nice blazer bro were did u buy it at I wanna buy one for my s10 zr2

  • AutoZone

Go to their website and choose your vehicle, then search for Spectre

    Good luck!!!

  • lol i was listening to that song right before i clicked on this video

  • Thats pretty crazy!!! The odds of that, are, massive. I hope you enjoyed the video!!!

  • thanks man,just ordered mine 4 my 00'' blazer....

  • AWESOME!!! I hope everything goes smoothly!!!

  • As far as the engine goes, Is every thing stock excluding the air intake? Sweet sound system by the way, love that song.

  • I have installed the CFM-Tech throttle blade, and I have a flowmaster super 40, also the Cat is probably blown out because its got 103000 miles on it!!! Otherwise, thats it!!!

  • Not bad video, but the noisy siren noises in the background to try and be badass is really not required.. we get it. :S

  • LOL, I thought they were coming for me too... :o

  • Usually, the only difference is the filter, but look for key words that describe the type of metal, surface finish, etc...

P.S. This is a Spectre kit...

  • Probably... Either that or Krispy Kreme's fresh doughnut sign turned on...

  • just took out the honey comb today..noticed a small difference

  • AWESOME! Glad it helped!!! Just imagine a new Spectre intake!

  • ive had an intake

  • oh...

  • ill give it a try

  • oh ok..cuz i have the same intake...will it make the check engine light come on if i take it out ..or mess nething up at all

  • As long as you don't touch the actual MAF sensor it will be fine...

  • is the a stock or aftermarket maf sensor..im lookin to get an aftermarket one cuz mine has the honeycomb

  • Its a stock one. Just remove the honeycomb...

The aftermarket ones are for high-performance engines with race camshafts, or NOS, or w/e...

  • gotta get one these bad boys for my 96 s10 ss.and a programmer lol

btw sounds very good for a v6.still doesnt compare to a v8 though lol

  • getting 21.89mpg with cai + extras. yes its a blazer

  • Lucky Man!

  • witch one is better the Spectre Cold Air Intake or the k&n intake

  • K&N filter is better, otherwise they are the same... BUT a Green filter is the best!!!

  • got a k&n intake for my blazer today for $100. brand new . puttin it on soon should have video up soon. gotta love them lights check em out

  • Lucky find!

  • no kidin craigslist is awesome

  • Except when some "nigerian millionaire" wants to "send you money". LOL!!!

  • This is awesome, I have a 2001 S-10 Pickup. Will this excact kit fir on it nicely? or will there be any problems? any miss fits? Please reply, I have been looking for the right video and the right product K&N is pretty good I hear! message back bro!

  • Go to Autozone and select your vehicle... The Spectre is same quality for better price!!!

  • not sure if i already asked but i checked on mine and got 2 1/4 . flowmasters can come in 2.5 or 2 1/4 . which one should i go with is 2 1/4 to snug. i want to go out to 3 inch tips

  • I have no clue...

  • alright they are pretty close so i can live with a little leway

  • how much did it cost??

  • I can't remember, its at AutoZone...

  • Hey! Whats the name of the song that your playing in the blazer?

    Thanks

  • I wasn't playing a song... I hd the radio off so I oculd listen to the intake...

  • During the video there was a song on for only maybe 10 seconds total

  • You'll have to tell me at what time frame...

  • 2:40

  • PM Sent

  • Oh yeah, I test the intake and play some music for fun, LOL, sorry I forgot!!!

  • hows the intake holding up

  • fine!, I need to go tighten it a little before I go home next weekend, but it still sounds awesome!!!

  • yea it took sometime but they look sick. thanks man for the comment. i dont know if i asked u this a while ago or not . im putting just a flowmaster super 44 muffler on and i want the inlet to be the same size as the stock so i dont have adaptors. 2.25 or 2.5 i've heard different. mines 2000 blazer LS

  • I think it was 2.5. The muffler shop pulled it out of stock and put it on, I don't have the box or anything...

  • alright talked to another guy with a 2004 he said 2.5 also. thanks

  • Well I gots a 2000, the 2004 is a different model so I'm glad you got second advice!!!

  • hey powersport check out my lights on my blazer. there wicked . put them on yourrrrsss

  • I just got Diamond-Back Headllights, and I have carbon-fiber altezza-style tailights on the way!!!

  • Hey my intake seems to be "bogging" down when its under 1500 rpm. You said it might be a sensor but they're expensive to relplace. and you said it might be a leak in the intake; Where might the leak be occuring?

  • Well, if you damaged the MAF that would explain it... Or maybe something isn't plugged in all the way. To find a leak you will be able to hear a whistling noise.

  • If you unscrew the wingnut, remove the IAT and MAF, disconnect the harness and disconnect that 1 bolt by the 4 screws near the airbox (the nut holding the lower airbox), you can take the entire air intake system out in 1 piece...

What i did was also remove the grommet and install the IAT thru the grommet first, and THEN put the grommet in the plenum piece... Was a little easier.

  • LOL, seriously? I didn't mind it, because I had to fit all the old parts back into the box that the Spectre came in... Well, they kinda fit. But that would be really useful if you were throwing away the old system.

  • LOL Yeah. I ended up taking most of it apart anyway to get the MAF piece and threw all the original pieces in a box, but it was much easier to remove without having to remove the 4 screws, and just removing that 1 bolt.

  • COOL!!!

  • ever have problems startin in the winter with the CAI. Also buddy of mine blew an engine in an ACURA AKA POS. His CAI sucked in a bunch of water and dirt. Blazer should be safe bein higher off the ground.

  • You are only safe from rain and wet roads... big puddles, snow, ice, mud is very dangerous. K&N sells a "filter bag" that covers your filter and prevents water from gettin in too easily. I plan on getting one at the first snow.

  • how much one cost

  • I have no idea, I'm sure google knows

  • Just installed this on my 01 Chevy Blazer last night. Sounds great and looks good! Quick question though, does it take the computer a couple days to adjust to it? b.c mine seems to slightly missfire with it on right now. Otherwise its great

  • The computer adjusts after a couple of key turns (starts). If it takes more than a week, you may have damaged a sensor or have a leak in the intake...

  • can u hear a difference at idle with that intake or is just above 3000 rpm

  • No, not even with the hood open and my ear on the motor,... LOL

Also, I can't hear it if the windows are rolled up in the front and/or down in the back... I'm sure those behind me, who can hear the "flowmaster super 44" exhaust, hear it best...

  • dual flowmaster or just one ?

  • ? Dual? They don't make true-dual systems for the Blazer...

  • as a kit no but an hour or 2 in a metal fabrication plant you can :)

  • checked out replacement filters on autozone

$50 for a filter seems kind of pricey are the filters with the cold air intake washable?

  • That is alot! But I think its washable considering it is the same style as K&N filters... The manual doesn't say...

  • checked spectres website they say there washable but you have to reoil them. i hope a cold air intake pays for itself and its filters cause i dont want to buy a new filter for $50 for each tuneup

  • Consider you save 1mpg. You get 100,000 miles out of the intake system before your car breaks apart... Thats (100,000 / 14mpg) minus (100,000 / 15mpg) equals 476 gallons saved, times 2.5 a gallon, equals 1190 dollars saved

  • what brand intake are u using

  • Spectre

  • what kind of improvent on the mpg do you think this would make. i know you said you would get a better filter so i imagine you mean a more restrictive one to trap more dirt. which this would negate some of the mpg. right?

  • Better meaning more air flow, like a Green brand filter

  • better mpg?

my blazer only gets about 17 with no cargo and not pullin anything. thinkin u get about the same stock but i looked on autozone and it says it improves mpgs

wonder if it would make it around 19-20mpgs

  • The factory says they get 14mpg... Mine gets less because of the chip and my driving style... However, the cold-air will increase MPG a little, maybe by 1 or 2.

  • quadzilla chip?

  • What? Hypertech Power Programmer III

  • is your blazer a loaded option for that year or just a bunch of mods? i got a 2001 and it doesnt have the dvd player. and the lines for the coolant are rubber and yours look like copper.

  • Its a 2000 LT, the lowest option. Those are chrome-plastic red wire loomz, I would have the entire engine bay converted but they cost too much. The 7" screen was installed by me.

  • nice

  • got a few questions for you

    how much the system cost

are filters hard to find or are they mostly universal

and when u drill into the radiator is that for a mount to hold the system on. cause it seems it would make more sense to mount it off the radiator

    would minimize risk of leak

    thanks for your reply

  • $149 at Autozone

They have replacements you can order

Its for the heat shield only

  • I like it! I have a 98 blazer, I plan on getting a CAI. I don't know if its worth the money to get an inexpensive knockoff from ebay, or to get an expensive one like this. Also: Rob Zombie is beast.

  • Its totally worth it to get a good product when you are putting it under your hood. The Spectre is good as, or better than, the K&N, for a lot less price!!! Getting this Spectre intake is worth every penny!!!

  • Alright.. I'm taking your advice! Can't wait for it to get here.

  • AWESOME!!! Hope it works out great!!! Have Fun!!!

  • You need to add annotations for the CLICK HERe FOR PART TWO lol

  • LOL, I was waiting for it to finish processing in HD...

  • lol I Started clicking and i was Like WTF lol but yeah i was sure if u forgot
